  1. Hi D_Taylor! I am considering to apply to the nursing program and most likely will be starting in May. I have been reading many reviews about the nursing courses on how hard they are. I will need to take the transition and health and wellness course since I haven't taken those courses. I have completed all my pre reqs. Can you give me suggestions or advices about the transition and health and wellness course as well for other nursing course you have taken thus far? I have ordered few books and have been reading to get familiar with the concepts. I want to be prepared before I start the program since I have the free time at the moment and would like to use it efficiently. Any other helpful suggestions and advices would be greatly acceptable. Thank You
  2. Hi klouis, Can you tell me the books that you will be using for fundamentals, patho, and health assessment? Also can you tell me specifically how were the Transition in nursing( NR- 101) and health & wellness (NR-222). Your suggestions would be really helpful. I'm looking forward to start the program in May at the ATL campus, since I have free time on my hands until then, I have planned to use the time efficiently by reading or any other things to be successful towards the program. Again your advice and suggestions would be really helpful. Thank You
  3. Thank You Klouis. I did get in touch with an advisor on campus and she was a great help in answering all my questions. Have you already started the program? If so do you have any advice or suggestions that would be helpful to know. I read a lot of reviews about the classes taken in the first semester of the program which are the Health Assessment, Fundamentals, and Patho. I have completed all my pre reqs, the only one I need are transition into nursing and health and wellness course before taking the patho or any other listed above. What would your recommendation be in order to take those classes? Is online or onsite better? I am a visual learner and I don't know if online would be a good option for me but If online is a better option in any case I wouldn't mind registering for an online course. I'm open to any suggestions and advices. Thank You
  4. Has anyone taken the HESI exam at the Atlanta campus? If so, what does the test consist of? Any suggestions on how to study for the test. I have been using the HESI study guide 3rd edition to study for the test. I won't be taking the test until Feb 2015, and I'm looking forward to start the program in May 2015. I would appreciate for any additional information regarding the program and the campus.
  5. At nextnurse67 Thank You for all the information. I have been trying to get in touch with an advisor at the campus but due to the interview process going on they have been very busy and they told me that I can expect the call later today or tomorrow. I have questions regarding the admission process. When is the deadline to apply for the BSN program? Do they only enroll twice a year? (Fall and Spring) How long is the HESI exam for? Is there an on campus interview process for the application to the program? I'm a little lost. I have read all the requirements that are needed to apply and I meet all the requirements. I have taken all the pre reqs hopefully they all transfer. But just unaware of if there are any additional requirements to the application process.
  6. Hello. I am currently a resident of Arkansas. I didn't come across this school until I read some reviews about this school on this website. I am planning to apply to this school, but would like to know when could I apply if I wanted to apply for the year 2015. When are the application deadline and I'm going to be taking the HESI exam on Nov 18th 2014 but the only areas that are tested are everything besides chemistry, biology and physics. Does this school require to take all the categories covered in the HESI exam? There isn't a school nearby where i live at the moment that offers that testing, so I will be driving to Dallas to take the exam since it is required by one of the schools I'm looking forward to apply out there. I have taken TEAS and scored an overall 92%. Is the Hesi hard than the TEAS? Also I have been studying from the HESI study guide Edition 3. Is that a good source or does anyone have any other recommendation to study for that test? I would appreciate all the advices and suggestions.
  7. Hello. I am planning to apply for the summer 2015 or the fall 2015 program and would like to get any suggestions or advice that would make a good candidate for the acceptance to the program. I have registered to take the TEAS V on Nov 7th 2014. Can anyone who has been accepted to this college or have already started with the program tell me what its like and what scores are required for getting accepted and much more. I'm currently a resident of arkansas and would like to know more before I start the process of applying to the school.
  8. Thank You
  9. Thank You.
  10. Has anyone taken the HESI Exam at El Centro college or the North Lake College campus? If so, any suggestions and advice to consider before taking the exam. I have take TEAS V before and scored a 92%. Is the Hesi harder than the TEAS? I'm taking the HESI for the first time. I am using the Hesi study guide. I am planning on taking the exam on Nov 18th 2014 at North Lake Campus. If anyone who has already taken the exam it would be really nice for early heads up.
  11. Hello, Im new to this site. I planning to apply for FALL 2015 semester at the El centro college. I have completed all the pre reqs towards a BSN degree, my only concern is the HPRS 1204 AND 1202 course. Currently I am a resident of Arkansas. I am a little confused with the HPRS 1204 and 1202 course listed for extra points. I have registered for the CNA course where I live currently and will be starting it next monday. I want to know if completely that course will be an advantage of getting extra points for the selection process or not. In the Information packet of the El centro nursing college it states that people who have formal or informal training with patient care by being PCA, CNA, Paramedic etc can get extra points. But then it also states that you have to be registered in HDEV 0110- Human Development Course. And also need to submit a portfolio documenting their training and experience. I'm really confused with this little section, can anyone who has applied or who are planing on applying give me some information regarding this course?
