Hi everyone. I'm new to POSTING on this site, however I have been reading the threads and forums for years. In August I finished my Master's Degree at the University of Saint Joseph in CT and just received my authorization to test from the ANCC to take my boards anywhere from now until December 30th. I am in no rush to pick a test date, although I would like to get the test done by early November! :0! I just took one of the DRT tests on the Barkley website and scored a 70, which I am not completely unhappy with since I haven't finished reviewing all of the material yet. For study materials I'm using the ANCC review manual, the Barkley and Associates review with CDs, and I'm going to take the other DRT at some point on the Barkley Website as well as the questions offered on the ANCC website. My study method so far has been making flashcards mostly - colorful charts, etc., and a few boring outlines. I'm almost through making flashcards of all the material. After that I'm just going to stick with going over them and doing review questions. Fortunately, my advisor from my graduate program came up with a packet of 400 practice questions for us that she has just made available for us to pick up at the university library so that will be helpful as well. I was wondering if anybody had any tips for me in terms of this last 4 weeks of studying. Any thoughts on receiving a 70 on the DRT and whether this is a forecast for impending doom? Anyone else who is in the same boat and wants to chat? I've kind of put off on the job applications for now, just because I do not want that added pressure. I updated my resume and all, but I feel more comfortable waiting until I eventually pass the exam. Does anyone have any comments about the job market in CT or surrounding states? Anyways, I look forward to hopefully interacting with some of you on here!
