It's been 5 years since I've graduated nursing school and I've finally landed my dream position as an l&d nurse. God has blessed me tremendously and has given me the opportunity to work at either Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital or Mount Sinai Roosevelt. Anyone here work at either facility? Mount Sinai Roosevelt does over 6000 deliveries a year and hasee the lowest section rate and second highest breastfeeding rate in Manhattan and Morgan Stanley does over 4000 deliveries and takes care of some crazy critical mom's and babies. Any advice? Thanks!

I have to say I've become terribly disheartened in pursuing my passion in maternal/child nursing, specifically labor and delivery. I have 4 years med/surg/tele experience and 6 mos icu/ccu. I recently moved jobs to gain ccu. Any how, I just can't seem to catch my break. I love nursing and we'll always love it regardless of the area I'm in, but I really want l&d and NICU experience. I'm trying to get hired at my old job and I thought I left on good terms but I have been turned down on three different times. I just want to cry. Any suggestions?

Praise the Lord I found it in Google books! I'd still like to hear how anyone has used this diagnosis either in your own practice or for school. Now it's not as urgent though :-)

Hello everyone! I'm an RN-BSN students and I'm almost done! I have an outdated NANDA diagnosis book and I really want to use Deficient Community Health as a diagnosis which is new to the 2012-2014 list. Could someone just post defining characteristics, related factors, and community outcomes? It is for my community health class. I am doing this diagnosis on a poor, inner city neighborhood whose health is less than optimal for a variety of reasons. I actually work within this community in the hospital. Thanks so much.
