  1. Yes, I applied for this January intake back in late may. It is my understanding that the applications being "closed" just means that they no longer are accepting new applications. I know some of the oversubscribed programs status become closed within 24 hours of the equal consideration date because of how many applications they receive even though no one has actually been admitted to the program yet. I think I understand the HOAE timeline and everything. Its published in multiple places that for September intake you must take the HOAE by the 28th or 29th of February which is also the last day that they even offer the test for that intake period. Though I haven't seen an exact date printed, was told a date by the admissions office for when the HOAE are due for January intake period which was either the 28th or 29th which is also the last day they offer them for this intake period. Im a little confused by your reply because you say that offers only go out after the deadline to take the HOAE has passed yet the first round went out in the start of September (a few offers even went out in August) and the deadline for the HOAE isn’t until the end of September. I spoke to a lady in the admissions office in June and she explained to me that they will be sending out the first round of offers in September but only to people who have taken the HOAE and whose average between their grades and their HOAE results are high enough that the admissions committee is confident that they will not be close to that years cutoff. She also stated that some offers will go out between the first and second round as people are completing their HOAE and their averages are well above what they are predicting to be that years cutoff average to be. She also told me that the second round of offers would go out mid-late October, shortly after all the HOAE testing dates have passed. But since I hadn't talked to her in so long or received my results but mostly because I was getting more nervous and confused I decided to call today. I spoke to the lady at the registrars office and she told me that the second round hadn't went out because they do not make any decisions until the last sitting for the HOAE has been completed and the results have been received. She said that they expect to have the next round of offers out in a few weeks and that anyone who has completed the HOAE still will be considered for admissions and won't necessarily be wait listed. Hopefully this will calm the nerves of anyone who has more recently taken the HOAE exam but are still waiting for a decision. I checked my email and the portal this afternoon but my HOAE results still aren't up which is frustrating because you and everyone else Ive talked to received theirs quite quickly. But when I went on Ontario Colleges this afternoon there was an offer from Conestoga which was what I wanted more than the results anyways. So anyone who is still waiting to hear from Conestoga sit tight, more offers will be going out soon. JolJenni- (or anyone else who might be able to answer) Have you accepted your offer yet or are you already attending the program? If you are already attending the program could you tell me how long before classes actually started were you able to view your schedule?
  2. I was wondering if anyone can tell me about how long it took to hear from any schools after they took the HOAE. I received a letter in early June inviting me to write the test at Conestoga but because of my work schedule I never had an opportunity to take it until this past Tuesday. I heard a couple kids talking about people they had known who got letters of admission only days after taking the test. Im not sure if that is 100% true but regardless I am starting to get nervous. The woman who administered the test said that our results would be up the end of last week or early this week but there still isn't anything posted on the student portal. I was just hoping that someone could let me know about their experience. How long did it take for you HOAE to show up on the student portal and how long was it before you got any correspondence from Conestoga (or any school) after taking the test. Thanks!
  3. I have a couple questions about the nipissing program that I can't find the answers to online and Im hoping you can answer them for me. The first one is if there is a required average you have to have to gain admission to this program or is anyone eligible? Also, how long does it take? I get the impression that it is kind of a go at your own pace type of program but if you don't mind can you tell me how long you expect it to take you or if you know the average length then what is that. Thanks!!
