  1. I know this is an old thread, but I recently applied to both the St. Lucie and Lawnwood StarRN programs. Does anyone know how long it might take for a recruiter to contact you? I graduated nursing school in December in another state and recently moved down here because of my husband's job change. I already have my FL license - took less time than I thought. I had started a job at my previous location, but was unable to complete orientation before our house sold. I'm hoping the small amount of prior work experience doesn't hurt my application, as this program is for new grads. I still feel new - and I don't have that magical one year experience. They didn't have this type of program where I was before and I think it's a great opportunity.
  2. I'm in 195. I figured it certainly couldn't hurt and it's only 8 weeks. I need to get used to tuesday being full anyway, since that's my clinical day. I also bought the books and ebook package. I wanted that though and was thrilled that it wasn't all that much more. I just don't think I can handle reading on an electric device alone.
  3. At the recommendation of a friend who is a nurse, I got Dansko shoes. Pricey, but well worth it, according to her. I also got my stethoscope and BP cuff from amazon. Much cheaper.
  4. I just got the email with the orientation information. Its a lot to get done before mid-January!! Can't wait until next week!!
  5. NurseNae - which track??
  6. I take that back!! I JUST got my acceptance letter for the traditional track!!!! Wooot!!!!
  7. Congrats Gracejeter! I still haven't gotten anything! argh!!
  8. Just checked my mail too. Nothing from Tyler. But, I was thinking if they mailed letters the same day they sent emails it probably wouldn't get here until tomorrow anyway.
  9. I haven't received an email either, and I'm hoping that is good news. Will anxiously wait for the mailman today. Sorry to hear for those of you who didn't get in and best wishes to those still waiting.
  10. I'm thinking if it's going out by end of the week, they'll wait until Friday afternoon. That way they have the weekend buffer before people start calling with all their questions. The auto reply when I submitted my application said end of the month, so this would still be 2 weeks early.
  11. I applied only to the traditional. I have a 4.0 gpa and scored 98th percentile on the TEAS. I'm hoping to get in, because I don't see how I could do any better on those numbers.
  12. Yes, I did! I haven't heard anything about the applicant pool. Did you hear anything about the stats? GPAs? Test scores? I know they never say what the average GPA is, but with a large applicant pool it has to way up there.
