Being a nurse and a mom is not the easiest task in the world,but anything that is worth doing is not easy. I have a lot of help from my parents, who are retired, and my grandmother, who runs the kids to ballet, and other activities when my husband cannot, and my husband helps alot. He gets the children off to school every morning and picks them up on the days that I work. I work dayshift 7am to 7pm 3 day one week and 4 days the next week, alternating. Some of the girls find it easier to work night shift with children in school, they can get them off to school in the morning after they get home, and then sleep6-7 hours until they get home. Then they can cook dinner for them and get them ready for the next day, them go to work that night. But this arrangement only works if you have a spouse at home to be with them at night. I have unfortunately, given a few depositions,and one of the most important things to do is not to let the plaintiffs attorney make you look stupid. You would not have gotten this far if you were. If you do not FULLY understand what he/she is asking of you, or if you don't like the way that it was asked, then you say, I am not sure that I understand what you are asking for, could you please restate the question. If they continue to make you uncomfortable, then you ask for a break with the facilities' attorney( who should be with you at all times)and ask him/her for guidance. Did you document that you let the physician know about the FHR? Did you document the reply from the physician? If you did, don't let the attorney make you look like the bad guy, and GOOD LUCK! ------------------ Hollywood/rn

Does anyone out there have information or studies or even opinions about wearing your own scrubs(laundered at home)at work. I work on an LDR unit that does sections on the unit. We are having some skin irritation problems from our hospital issued scrubs. Please Help! ------------------ Hollywood/rn
