  1. I am so frustrated with my job right now, if i didnt care about the residents as much as i do, i would have quit. My administrator has started a new mentor program, where he picks a person from every floor and chooses them to represent that floor, i.e. the cna's, rules, ideas, etc. i am one of 8 cnas in the assisted living area of my facility, and one of the girls he picked is completely wrong. she leaves residents unattended, the ones you are supposed to keep an eye on, b/c they are a fall risk, everytime i show up for my evening shift there are 3-4 call lights going off, and she is just sitting on her butt, not answering them. she hides in residents' rooms to paint her nails and talk on the phone, and although i see these things, and so do other cnas, no one has done anything, and she totally changes face when the administrator comes around, so he thinks she is perfect.. i also spent 5 hours one night compiling a new CNA book, with new chartings and records inside, and guess who took the credit??? i am not saying i necessarily wanted to be picked for the mentor, but i know there are several of us who take pride in our job, and work really hard, and here she is , doing nothing, and she is getting credit for it... i dont know what the right, mature, professional thing to do is, but several of us are very frustrated, and in a rut! please helP! signed, hard work unrecognized

I am nervous about the school, about the position itself, and curious as to what i can expect and if this is the right field for me. If there are any other surg tech's out there and what do you like/dislike about this position, and of course any pointers you can give me!
