I found out that those letters were for LPN to RN. Not RN in general :) Regular RN admission letters won't go out until next week.

Letters aren't going out until next week, in case anyone else reading this is wondering. So first week of November.

Well...... Nothing today, either. They send out rejections letters, too, don't they?

I don't know about points, but I had a 22 comp ACT.

Oh!! I talked to the Health Science receptionist, and she said they wasn't meeting until today? Did your coworker apply to Bevill, too???

Did anyone else here apply for Bevill's RN program for Spring? I was just wondering when letters would be sent out. I was thinking October or November?

Thank you all for your opinions. I've really enjoyed reading the replies. I had a lot since I haven't checked back in a while :) I've decided to do RN, and get all of the prereqs out of the way, and then apply. By then my kids will be a little older, and both will be in school, so hopefully that will help in terms of study time! Also, they won't be SO dependent on me. Hopefully that will help, too.

I have heard that they do cram stuff faster! My friend who has been in both will be finishing her LPN in December and they only got 2 weeks for one area where the RNs got more. I'm assuming it isn't as in-depth with LPN as RN, though. And the LPN program here is 3 semesters (including summer)I believe, and RN is 5.

True! I guess I compare myself with people with "less stressors" like those without kids more so, but I think just because one may not have kids doesn't make any less stressful. I admire those who have kids, work, AND are going to nursing school because i dont work. The only stress I do have is whether a bill will get paid and kids. Lol. An absence of stress for one could be made up in another area of life for someone else (work, family, finances, etc.)

I wondered about that. RNs doing what an RT does and why they would hire a RT and pay them separate if a RN can do the same thing..

Thanks to all of you for your feed back! It makes sense that programs vary in difficulty for different areas. As for the childcare, that is one of my major concerns. I can't remember exactly which but i know that one program is 6A-6P and the other is 7A-7P. My husband works 10-12 hour shifts (nights) and his shift isn't changing soon. He was on the 3-11 for 3 years. We don't really have a large support system. My 4 year old will be in kindergarten when (if) I start the program, and I'm not sure when clinicals start once you begin the program, but he will be in school, and my 2 year old will not be... The schedule is what concerns me more than anything. I suppose my daughter will see a lot of daycare and daddy. I have been looking into respiratory therapy. The clinical hours for that program is more "daycare friendly", and the work hours seem to be the same as nursing (except less day and more night with 3 days/12 hours and lots of on call) Hubby has been trying to talk me into becoming a teacher. I don't know, but I know I really want to be a nurse, whether that means starting out as a LPN or a RN, I want to get there somehow. I really appreciate all of your opinions. Thanks so much to all of you!

We had a nursing instructor come and talk to us and she said that in the RN program, they will do 5-6 chapters and then test on it. In the LPN, she said they do a chapter at a time and test. Talking to my friend who is currently doing LPN, they both sound really difficult... Lol
