Seattle's UWMC/Swedish Nursing Residency 2016
I decided to email the recruiter and was told that she is still waiting to hear back from the units, and I should know by the first week of May. Also that they are in the process of scheduling interviews, and it couple take a couple of weeks to get through all of the candidates.

No, I've been thinking about it but I don't want to be annoying. They said by the end of April and there's still a week left...but now I'm thinking maybe I should just contact them?

I had my phone interview in the middle of March too, and have not heard back about a panel interview. The recruiter said I would hear back by the end of April, and that if I hadn't I should call them. My top choice was NICU by the way, what are you looking for interview for?

Seattle's UWMC/Swedish Nursing Residency 2016
I had a phone interview at the End of March, hoping for Neonatal ICU! I was told I would hear back by the end of April about an interview with the unit/managers. I'm surprised there isn't more talk about this program on allnurses, I'm hoping they're still looking to hire a lot of new grads, NICU is so competitive!

Vanderbilt Nurse Residency Summer 2016
From looking at threads from past cohorts (Winter 16, Summer 15), it looks like the base pay is $21.80, with shift differential: $6.00 on weekends, $3.00 on evenings, and $3.50 on nights. I've heard that's pretty much in line with what new nurses make at other hospitals in middle TN.

Vanderbilt Nurse Residency Summer 2016
Hey guys! Just found this post, I'm graduating at the end of April and interviewed for NICU earlier in March. Very anxiously waiting to hear back...anyone else interview for NICU? Maybe I wasn't as prepared as I should have been, but I actually thought the interview was pretty intense. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming, but the questions were definitely not easy.

Licensing in other States
Hello! I'm graduating this spring with my BSN, and I'm trying to figure out when/how to apply to take the NCLEX. My issue is that I'm from Michigan and am applying to jobs in other states, but haven't gotten a job yet so I don't know which state to apply for licensure with. Originally I was going to wait until I had a job to apply for licensure (so I would know which state), but I recently found out it takes a long time to process everything, so I'm wondering if it would be faster to apply for Michigan, and just transfer my license to whichever state I get a job in? Just not sure which makes the most sense time/money wise... Thanks guys!

Air Force Nurse Corps as a New Nurse
Thanks for the info, I know it takes a long time to become a critical care nurse, but I didn't realize it would be hard to get out of. Good to know!

Air Force Nurse Corps as a New Nurse
Hello! I am currently a junior in nursing school, working as a tech at a nearby VA hospital. I know that I want to join the Air Force as a nurse after I graduate, and have been reading a lot about it online, but I can't seem to find any recent articles. I hear a lot about the Air Force downsizing and am wondering about the effect that has on trying to join. I've heard it is pretty competitive, and being in peace time I imagine it's even more so. I am also wondering about the kind of patients you would see in the nurse corps. The VA I work at doesn't have nearly as sick of patients as the university hospital I do my clinicals at, and I'm assuming nursing in the military would be similar? At least during times of peace. I am hoping to work in critical care, and worry there won't be very much opportunity for that in the nurse corps. Any information would be greatly appreciated!! I have not talked to a recruiter yet as I am only a junior have a long time before I actually graduate.
