I just wanted to pop in and say good luck to all of you. I know and remember how nerve wrecking the waiting process is to find our if you made it or not.

It doesn't hurt to try. Check some of the past threads and try and determine where the entrance point was. I see that they have a new thread one post up for the Fall 2016 as well.

PHSC will not show any priority preference from other schools. I had looked into possibly transferring a year ago and found that there are not many schools that do. PHSC will give you an additional 5 points if you are a Pasco or Hernando resident so make sure your DL has one of those counties. Other than that they look at your Pre-req GPA and TEAS score. That is how they have done it for years. Hope this helps you a little

As long as you plug in your code your fine. The background check is part of your tuition fees. You should not have to pay for it.

I honestly can't remember the time frame for them. If I recall correctly almost everyone ended up getting it done all over. If you google the timeframe for them through the health department it should give you a better idea. At the end of your first year everyone will have to get the two-step PPD again. The school pays for a new background check and fingerprint check but you have to pay for your drug test for the second year out of your own pocket. That is what we are all going through right now

1 year for LPN and 1 year for transition to RN. If you have all pre-reqs complete for the transition you can apply immediately after the LPN program other wise you may have to wait a semester and finish those pre-reqs

Depending if you have micro or not the PN program is 5 days a week. The generic is 3 days. The LPN program is accelerated and moves much faster than the generic program; however, the generic program gets more in depth than the LPN

On the TB (PPD) you need to have the two step done. 2 pokes not just the one

You will need to have copies of all the shot records to provide to the school. They turn around and give it to your potential clinical site as well. It sounds like all you would need is a physical then. Oh and make copies of EVERYTHING you turn into the school. They are great at misplacing things!

Just a few more helpful tips for those that made it. If you don't have insurance the best prices were found at the Care One (one on County Line and one on Cortez) was the cheapest route to have your physical and shots. There were some cheaper places but they were located in Tampa. Many of you are probably younger so you may have to go to your pediatrician to get shot records and if you don't have a primary and you are under 26, your pediatrician can still treat you. All in all it ran over 300 for us that did not have insurance. They last tidbit is make sure you get the two-step PPD if it is still required which means you get stuck twice. Some places thought it meant the first step was to get stuck and the second step was coming back to have it read... not the case. You have to get stuck twice and have two readings.

Watch your emails, the packet they send is kind of big so they have a tendency to email that one out.

I would definitely recommend calling to confirm they did receive your fax.

It depends, they plan on everyone rotating to a new site each semester; however, at the end of our first semester they gave 12 students an option to go to Trinity till the end. It is up to you but I prefer to go to several different facilities.

No problem. You will have lab the first 3-4 weeks the rotate to your clinical which is your hospital or rehab site. Everyone will find out where they are assigned on the first lab day

They give a date to turn it in which was before the gathering; however, they allow extra time if needed. The absolute latest date was right before clinical depending on your site

Last December it was earlier in the month. If you were chosen late they met with you one on one

They do allow a little more time than that because the postal can't be guaranteed. However they will start looking at alternates as soon as the denies Start coming in.

Yeah, you can speak to the dean. She is the one who makes those decisions. I do want to add that the pre enrollment costs are high as well. If you don't have insurance you can pay anywhere from 300-400 for your shots, physical, and background check.

I'm pretty sure I took it down or it is buried in posts somewhere. It is possible to make a switch for extenuating circumstances but I think there has to be room. Most clinical sites only allow a certain number of students on the floor at one time. The others attend their observations to meet that number.

We got our hands spanked because we shared the list on our FB group and someone mentioned it to Nancy and the dean. LOL no worries though... It wasn't my first hand smack and I'm sure it won't be my last lol
