  2. Hi everyone, I am new here and would appreciate any advice. I have 5 yrs nursing experience in a busy teaching hospital-- staff nursing on neuro floor and the last 2 yrs in oncology clinic/telephone triage RN position. I have stayed in triage much longer than I wanted to b/c the hours are so great (no weekends/holidays) but no longer feel challenged and miss direct patient care. I very much want to transfer to the ER but have no experience and have not practiced ANY hands on skills in all the time I have done phone triage. Can any ER nurses out there give me advice on what exactly I should be doing to prepare to work in the ER? ACLS, etc..? Thanks for any advice. Noelle :
