  1. I took the AANP today and failed. I have used Fitzgerald review, Leik book intensively, Hollier review, Exam Edge 2000 questions, APEA Qbank 1000 questions, and prior books to prepare. I took 3 months to prepare about 4-10 hrs studying per day. I was very confident as I have passed multiple predictor tests ( APEA predictor) with high 70`s and 80`s. And STILL FAILED ! The test was full of pediatrics and women's health questions. Very disappointing because the the AANP Handbook clearly breaks down the percentage for each area. Well let me tell you, it was NOT like that all. I felt like I was doing a Pediatric NP exam along with a Certified Nurse Midwife exam. They even had one question completely jumbled up contradicting themselves in one paragraph. I was furious midway in the exam, as I was keeping count on the scrap paper how many more peds questions I must need to answer !!! I am absolutely refusing to pay another $290.00 for this certifying body to retake the test. The questions were poorly worded and I am not sure what reference they were using but there were multiple answers with 2 correct possible options. I looked them up after the test and I just made myself even more upset, because I was correct. So Iam not sure where to go from here and how to even start preparing for the ANCC now, as they have lots of theory and legal questions. Does anybody failed the AANP and succeeded with ANCC ? Any suggestions ? Thank you
