University of Washington's BSN program 2014
Hello all! So I am currently a freshman at Edmund's CC working toward my pre-nursing DTA. So far I have a 3.8 because I kinda screwed up in an online class and got a 3.4. I also work part-time at a medical massage clinic as a front desk administrator handling patient info and billing. I know that typically work as a CNA is weighed a little heavier when applying for programs but I worked as a care provider for about 4-5 months and ended up going backwards financially. Its disgusting how little they get paid and treated and I most likely will not seek work as a new CNA any time soon. I just recently landed a volunteer position at Group Health in their surgical recovery room and will be starting that soon. Apart from doing really well in school and racking up as many paid and unpaid hours in a medical setting as possible are their any other tips you may have to make me more desirable to UW?

University of Washington foreign language???
Thanks for the replies everyone. I think that I can tweak my future plan a little to meet the language requirement while working toward my DTA. I was planing on taking philosophy but I guess instead I could take Spanish?

Has anyone gone to or is applying for Everett Community College's nursing program?
Just wondering what you ended up scoring on your TEAS?

Shoreline community college or UW?
I think that it depends on a few different factors and how they relate to you. Personally, I would go to Shoreline and then seek my BSN through an easy online course through WGU. It is far less expensive than attending UW for their BSN program. Yes, it may take longer but it would probably save you money. I disagree that it is more difficult to find a job with just an ADN, but I would agree that it is easier to secure a job when you have a BSN. I think a lot of people have the misconception also that you get pain more as a RN with a BSN over an RN with a ASN. It is based on experience.

University of Washington SoN Fall 2013
Ok so forgive me for my ignorance but does this mean that I could be accepted into the SON program but wouldn't be able to attend unless I met a foreign language criteria for the school?

Hey there. Does the UW require a foreign language for transfer students?

University of Washington foreign language???
Hello all, I am a pre-nursing student at Edmund's CC in my freshman year. I graduated high school in 2009 and took some time to explore the work force before taking a nursing assistant class and working as a CNA for about six months. I am now going to school full-time and working part-time as a administrative assistant at a medical facility and actively seeking a volunteer opportunity at a local hospital. I was reading somewhere online that UW requires a foreign language to be accepted into their nursing program. Is this true? Do transfer students still have this as a requirement? Can anybody give me some insider info here? Thanks!
