  1. Oh darn Elena2, a similar situation happened to you! When I found out on wednesday, I mentioned to them that I had resigned my new promotion. I have conditional acceptance. I touched in with them today about the background check but they said I have to wait until next week for that email.
  2. It turns out that there was an an error with the initial acceptance email for Spring 2015. Yesterday I touched basis with the office about orientation and the next steps and that's when they mentioned that they had made an error. I'm in for Spring 2015, but I wasn't provided with the orientation information (the event passed already), the background checks, and other clearances. It's crunch time for them and me. I'm hoping for everything to get processed soon and in time. Hopefully I get to join you all for Spring 2015! If not, there's always Summer 2015. Everything happens for a reason.
  3. My point total was 33.
  4. Thanks Elena2! I applied online and mailed out all my transcripts (all class completed) on October 2nd 2014 and received the evaluation Sunday, November 23rd and at 4am Monday, November 24th I received the conditional acceptance email (the status on mycsusm application also changed too). Now I'm just waiting on that darn Financial aid package to be done. I called the Financial Aid office and they supposedly don't workout the FA packages until after you've been conditionally admitted. I have a week more to make my decision.
  5. Yes, I received the email this past Monday at 4am for spring 2015. I also was surprised that the notification was so soon to class start date! My financial aid package isn't available yet so I'm praying that that situation gets finalized soon so I can prepare for the move! I'm so excited! I'm also waiting on further notifications from csusm on the next steps like orientation and background checks! Congrats to everyone who got accepted! For those applying, continue pursuing that goal. You'll get there.⚓️
  6. Hello everyone!! I was elated to get my conditional acceptance email this past Monday for spring 2014! I'm from the ventura area so I'm relocating. I'm interested in a roommate situation.
  7. This is my first post. I hold a degree in another field and will be applying to some California BSN and ABSN programs as well as my local community college (Ventura College). Yesterday's visit to CSUCI financial aid was a shocker, because I was told that I won't be eligible for any subsidized loans (regardless of how much I took out in undergrad). For that three year BSN program I will be possibly eligible for a max of $57,000 unsubsidized loans (4.66% interest) with a $12,500 max year. The three year cost estimate is $72,000, half of which I must finance via private loans, scholarships and the pennies I can save up here until next fall. I'm afraid to take out $72,000 dollars in loans. I applied to the locate ADN program and know that I can take CSUCI's 14 month fast pace ADN to RN program and shave off some costs but I'm relatively competitive now and I don't want to let fear of debt slow my goal down. My ultimate goal is to get my BSN (as an ELMSN program doesn't interest me now), discover what area I want to specialize in, and have the hospital or Nurse Corps loan repayment program help pay off the student loans and help me move forward to my goal of obtaining a masters. I am considering CSUN ABSN 14 month program, but i'm concerned that the program will be "too accelerated" and that for costs of saving money, I won't have as much clinical exposure and opportunities to network (i.e. externships and networking at the hospital) sites. I have a lot on my mind. I'm also considering holding off on applying to BSN programs, work as a CNA at a hospital and save save save as my as I can and apply in two years. Thanks for reading :) Any suggestions?
