  1. I am interested in this topic too. All information that I have found from ANCC as well as FL state board or nursing requires you to be in business for 6 months prior to applying to be certified. But how can one be in business providing CEU's when they are not accredited? I'm stuck...

I suggest the following: 1. Research the programs available both online and around your place of living (family, pediatrics, midwifery, psychiatric NP, acute care NP, adult/geriatric NP, CRNA?) 2. Compare the costs as well as length of program (some offer part time NP, some offer hybrid MSN-DNP, that might be worth your time) 3. Check on program requirements. Not ALL states and programs are the same. In FL for FNP, for example, not all programs require you to have bedside experience prior to admission to the program. Some can accept you straight after BSN. CRNA program does NOT accept without 1-2 years of ICU experience. 4. Make a decision which NP you would like to become and which program is best for your current situation (most NP programs can be combined with working at least part time, but not CRNA program, that requires you to study full time for 3 years). It takes a lot of research to make the right choice.
  3. oh, wow! Thanks for your advice! I admire your determination!
  4. oh, then i'm doomed... Thank you anyway for your help.
  5. I am a mother. I didn't breastfeed for long, but at least 3,5 months I did. Thank you very much this is very helpful.
  6. It's really difficult to transfer in my hospital, as the hospital is not too big and L&D nurses are usually there for years and nobody wants to leave...
  7. Dear fellow nurses, I am trying to research how to become a lactation consultant. I have went on the website that provides certification and it provided me with information on how to get certified. My problem is that I currently do not work in Labor and Delivery, thus I am unsure of how to meet the clinical hours requirement to be eligible to take the exam. Please advise if anybody has any ideas. Thank you.
