  1. Reading all these responses, I wonder, do the facility you work for offer any type of "nurse support system" to help. I can understand being written up to serve as a reminder, but this is one reason most of us choose to leave nursing...lack of support. Do you have a group you can discuss you guilt and fear with? :crying2:If they do, what is the support group called.
  2. I am presently taking the RN-BSN Program, and had to write a research paper. For one, I don't know what topic to use, and two, I am not sure how the format should look like. Does anyone have good suggestions, or ideas how to get the right format? Help....:innerconf
  3. I know that it is overwheliming...but keep faith...but mostly, keep good documentation. Before you start something you are not sure of, stop, take time find the protocol and ask another nurse for assistance, it's the best way to do it the way the hospital wants it done (your past the teacher telling you to do it their way). AND REMEMBER THINGS CHANGE FROM WHAT YOU WERE TAUGHT. GOD is the only truth put your faith in God everyday.
  4. I can understand what your saying, but this is the reality. If you don't cater to everyone in the room, you run the risk of being written up and possibly being sued for not being professional. Having had the same experience, it is now becoming harder and harder to do your work. Mostly because, the hospital is trying to accomodate everyone so that they are considered family friendly... :rotfl: if not, you get labeled and written up. NURSING HAS CHANGED....in some cases for the worst. You might read through the policy & procedures and see if the unit really adhears to them. I remember when children were not allowed in the hospital unless they were sick, visiting hours were limited, and only patient's (parent's allowed with small child), unless deathly ill were the only ones allowed in the hospital, and for safety reasons that are not being addressed, visitors per room were limited. :chair:
