Just thought I'd share my timeline with you all because I know many of your individual posts with your timelines/experiences helped me through my period of waiting/questioning...even if it was simply because it reassured me, knowing at least I wasn't the only one waiting weeks and weeks :) January 21, 2015--mailed application priority mail with check and also request for temporary license. 2 days previous I had submitted requests for transcripts to be sent. The following day, I completed the Nursys verification for the other state I hold a license for. (Around January 7th I had completed my livescan in California). Febuary 11 -- I got an email requesting confirmation of my email/account with breeze. I made my account and saw that they had listed my application date as Febuary 5, same day as when my check was cashed. Around March 10th--Called just for the sake of calling. Was on hold for 15 minutes. A fairly polite individual answered. Gave the generic answer that they were still processing applications from January, not to call back until my application was at least in the system for 6-8 weeks. When I asked them if all my transcripts had been received and if I was missing any classes ( as I wasn't sure if I was missing an aging and society class) she said they hadn't even performed an initial review of my application, that it was too early. Off and on checked online for any changes. Initially, application said pending and missing education history (although I knew they had received my transcripts). March 24, 2015--checked on my application and noticed that it no longer said anything about my education, just pending, and under details and status "open". Call me crazy, but for different reasons I just kept checking the site that same morning. I hadn't done that before, but I just had this sense that it would be the day--that and I was contemplating enrolling in a local masters program and was hoping for a "sign" that California was the next step instead of staying here in TN. Anyway, my dramatic storytelling aside, a couple hours after I had initially checked that morning, my license number magically appeared! Yeah, I'm not gonna lie, it was surreal! Just amazing. It was really special to be able to see it pop up minutes after having just seen the same old "pending" and "open". So yeah, sorry for the long and drawn out timeline, but I'm still excited about how it all went down:) California is insanely slow and its super frustrating, but worth the wait if that's where you eventually want to end up. Just have realistic expectations. Know that it can/will take months. Now I just need to get my act together and actually move out there :) P.S.I never did get a temporary license, so I kinda wasted 50 bucks, but I'm still glad I requested one. Just in case a dream job lined up, I didn't want to regret not having at least a temporary license.
