  1. I am considering applying to the DNP program for Fall 2017. My daughter will be two-years old by then. Any of you moms? Did you get scholarship(s), grants? OR are you taking out loans? Thanks!
  2. Hmmm...not sure what you are trying the say here!
  3. According to the American Parkinson's disease Association, Haldol use should be avoided in eldery.

  5. Haldol isn't recommended for elderly people with Parkinson's!
  6. Why on earth would any one consider giving Haldol to an elderly patient with Parkinson's disease admitted for Pneumonia???? Just because he/she is confused/agitated!!
  7. I feel your pain. I am a minority. I lived/worked in a very diverse area for 8- years before I moved to a very small town to join my husband. I accepted a job in a not so friendly Hospital. My nurse manager was extremely racist and she made no effort to hide it. At my three month evaluation, she literally made me cry! She told me I acted entitled, I needed to learn to make friends, I needed to learn how to interact with people!! Etc! Mind you, in my previous jobs, I had received awards for my outstanding performance at work and many many letters of appreciation from patients. I realized she was trying to break me down, diminish me so she can train me like a dog! To make a long story short, I couldn't allow her to redefine me! I resigned immediately! I found a job with in a week of leaving there! I am glad I didn't stay. Don't stay where someone is making you feel uncomfortable! It will cheap away from your well being! Good luck to you! There is always something better and bigger out there.
  8. Thank you all for taking time out of your busy day to reply/advice. I took my concern to my manager. It's been addressed. There is a plan to add bowel regimen to the Hospitalist's post op order set; even though the surgeon orders the narcs.
  9. I work in an orthopedic unit. I work weekends. Most of my post op patients are on pain medications & constipated come weekend. The other day I asked the surgeon if it would be possible to add stool softeners to his orthopath orders?? Why wait until pts are super constipated to intervene. He got pissed off because he said that's not his problem. Need to ask the hospitalist. I can understand he doesn't want to deal it, but what upsets me is that he's very quick to get upset & raise his voice. It's starting to get to me. Couple weeks ago he raised his voice because someone else didn't follow his orders. Its annoying to get mistreated for something that happened on my day off!
  10. Which one would you recommend? Cross country or Travel across America??
  11. What about Bellevue, Everett, Kirkland..ect? I have a small child so safety is top top priority.
  12. Thank you so much Mike!
  13. Planning to apply for RN position in Seattle area Which Hospital do you recommend?? And why?
  14. Thank you! Great idea.
  15. I have been an RN for 9-yrs, I enjoyed bedside nursing as a Research Nurse at NIH, M/S & Ortho RN. Now I am a stay @ home mom. My DD is 7-months old. I really want to go for a masters degree but not too sure which one. Please advice? Should I start now, or wait until my kid is a bit older? Also, My boss & people think I am capable of this & that!! But I am very insecure!! And very afraid of failing. I have done very well thus far (got an award & recognitions).
