  1. Congratulations to everyone who has heard back! I just received my letter and I'm so excited! :)
  2. Yes, use the SJSU GPA calculator to calculate your GPA for the 5 prerequisites. Be sure to account for +/- i.e. A-,B+, etc. Good luck :)
  3. Awesome! I remember reading somewhere that the preliminary cut-off score for last semester (Fall 2014 start) was a 7.35, but it must have went down with those who gained acceptance after being on the pending/waiting list. I hope that we all make it in! :)
  4. I'm not sure about how it works with transfer students (if that's your situation) but I have attended SJSU during all of my college years so far, and just recently switched out of prenursing and declared a different major to work on a "backup plan" in case I don't get accepted - the undergraduate coordinator informed me that they do allow people from other majors to apply, and upon acceptance, they will change your major. So, if you're currently at SJSU with another major, you can still apply if you've completed all of the 8 prerequisite courses and have taken the teas. If you have specific questions I'd advise you to call the nursing office. The number is listed on SJSU's School of Nursing page. Best of luck!
  5. You are awesome for balancing all of those things! Personally, it took me 3 years at my school (SJSU) to get through all of my pre-reqs, although one of those years was spent taking classes for another major due to the science classes being constantly waitlisted. I am now applying to SJSU for spring start. My gpa is no where near competitive, but I'm hoping that my teas score will give me the extra boost. Good luck to you on your journey!
  6. Hello fellow pre-nursing students! I thought that it might be helpful to start a thread for SJSU Spring '15 applicants. How about we all share our impaction scores to get an idea of how competitive this applicant pool will be? My impaction score: 7.49 GPA (for 5 prerequisites): 3.29 TEAS: 96.7%
