  1. cupcakecutie147 Hey I was wondering if you decided to attend Belmonts FNP?
  2. Awesome, congratulations! They will give you a topic and you write a very brief answer to a topic/question they give you. It's really not a big deal, I think they are just looking for a baseline of your writing skill/style. You'll do fine.
  3. Yes I was accepted. Are you from Nashville? I know where a few graduates work. You could call there or go in there and speak to them and ask about the program intensity. Or just call them and ask them if they have any graduates who are willing to speak to perspective students.
  4. I have spoken to several FNP's who graduated from Belmont, they had nothing but great things to say about the program. I could not say as far as the difficulty of the program. In the interview process they tell you it is a fast track program that is challenging and that you should not work if you are doing the full time option. The schedule for 2016 is a very busy fall semester and not quite as intense as it goes on as the classroom time is decreased and the clinical time increases. I was impressed with the staff and those who interviewed me. Seem like a great group of professional individuals who really have their stuff together and believe in their model.
  5. I have applied. How bout yourself?
  6. The waiting is tedious is it not! I applied to the FNP. I also heard that some will be interviewed for FNP. Best of luck to everyone... I hope we all get what we desire. :)
  7. Yes I also would like to know exactly where that comment comes from and on what basis you would say something like that because your attitude comes across as simply very negative and condescending which in my opinion takes all the credibility away from your comments. It seems were all here to get feedback and to help one another not to be trouble makers and spread gloom and doom. I know facts relevant to the subject, I shared them. Its not hearsay, its not guessing and its not wishful thinking.
  8. I have a friend who has a dual specialty in both FNP and PMHNP and she did a DNP in Integrated/Holistic Health. She started out in a well established practice and makes well over $200,000 a year (net) in her own holistic healthcare practice now. So to all the naysayers.... there you go. Its all about your passion, ambition, determination, and what you want to do with it.
  9. Hi Everyone... I applied also to the direct entry fnp program. I am in an accelerated BSN and graduating in May. Not terribly excited about the next couple of months of waiting. Always a bit anxious till you hear. I have applied to a few other schools as well but Vandy is my secret favorite Wishing you all the very best.
  10. @kpetry03 Awesome!! Congratulations :) I do have some information I can share if you want to email me at my private email I will share what info I have... [email protected] Just put Union University in the subject line so I know who it is... super excited for everyone! Chyrl
  11. @ cls408, CNA Thats awesome!! Congrats! You can just email me on my personal email at [email protected]. You could contact Cathy Wright at Hendersonville campus she would be able to help you maybe. I don't know any of the other people who are attending. Drop me an email if you like… You might put Union University or something in the subject line so I know who it is… I get so many emails sometimes I overlook them. :)
  12. mania4real ... I got your PM and responded. So it must have worked. :)
  13. @cls408, CNA Congratulations!! Big decision. Im not sure how the alternate list works. I can give you some insight into what I know about the college, the program and the staff. I am accepted into the Spring Cohort at Hendersonville. I did a tour and was very impressed. The have an awesome new facility with a gross anatomy lab (not common in nursing schools) with two cadavers (male and female) and an incredible looking Unit lab with robotics set up like an ICU floor. The director of the program gave me the tour and introduced me to the president and some of the staff... really down to earth nice people. Hendersonville is a nice little area, a suburb of Nashville... easy access to Nashville but without the traffic insanity. PM me if you want. I wish you lots of luck in your decision!! Chyrl
  14. Has anyone else heard anything? mania4real did you decide if you were going to accept? Congrats on those who have been accepted! Fingers crossed for those who haven't heard anything yet. :)
  15. @mania4real Congratulations! I also am accepted at Union. I did a tour there a couple of months ago and was so impressed with the campus, the faculty, and staff. The campus is state of the art and top notch. The robotics were super cool :) I applied at other places as well and was accepted there too but decided on Union. Are you from Tennessee? Im moving there from out of state. Moving mid December. Anyone else hear anything yet?
  16. They may extend the Sept. 15 deadline… last year they did. I would go ahead and apply if you want to. The only thing they can do is reject it because its past the deadline. You don't have to have all the transcripts in yet… you just have to have requested them. You also don't have to have the reference letters in yet. You just have to have requested them. To apply for the spring is a separate application all together so you would have to reapply for the spring under the spring application. Good luck whatever you do! :)
  17. I heard back in 5 1/2 weeks… but I don't know if thats normal or not.
  18. Don't worry yourself. If you have over a 3.0 then you have a chance… thats their requirement. I saw people who had GPA's lower than mine who got in. Stay positive! Besides they take your personal statement, references, and any previous experience in medical into consideration along with your GPA. When did you apply? I am sending you lots of good wishes and keeping my fingers crossed for you… :)
  19. @marmar13 I think you will like Tennessee. Im not for sure because I don't know how they calculate it. I think my overall is about a 3.35… my last 65 hours was between a 3.5 and a 3.6 maybe?? My sciences were mostly A's… maybe a 3.8ish? I don't know for sure though. Early on I spoke to someone about transfer of courses. She said that its on an one by one basis for the previously taken courses… if they meet their criteria then you don't have to retake them. Thats awesome because I have maybe four of them. I have seen some stats posted on here for previous students. Their were some better than mine and some not as good. I don't think mine are all that great. I applied at Vanderbilt and didn't feel very confident about it. It seemed like most people applying there have like a 3.7 or better cumulative GPA.
  20. @marmar13… Thanks. I lived in San Diego as a child and was just out there a few weeks ago. :)
  21. @marmar13 … Yes I will be moving. I lived in Nashville and my dad got sick… he died this spring, so I have been here helping my mom get organized and helping care for him. I was planning to move back there anyhow. I love Nashville. Where are you in CA?
  22. Thanks Katie and Mariayna. I am really excited Im sure you will hear something anytime now…. fingers crossed for you guys!!!
  23. Thanks! I submitted my application July 31st. I had read on last years page that they heard about this time so I was thinking it might be anytime. There were days or even weeks between when people heard though. Some had applied earlier and heard later there did not seem to be a pattern.
  24. Hey guys I just now got my acceptance email… Yay!!! Im so excited. I have my fingers crossed for you guys. Your bound to hear something anytime now. My name is Chyrl by the way. Really looking forward to making plans for the move and getting started in January!
  25. From what I can tell looking at last years deadlines they continuously pushed it back until even Jan. 1 the month it started. I don't think the deadline really means much. Maybe its rolling until they fill up. I don't know. I would be moving there too if I get in but have a child and won't be looking for a roommate. Someone on a post somewhere said they were applying to Hendersonville and wanted a roommate though. I was looking at the old posts for last years spring cohorts and it looked like some of them got their acceptance emails around this time of the year. So we might hear something any time now. Someone said anytime between now and Nov. Fingers crossed for everyone! Keep us posted if you hear anything. :)
