I was in Women's Health for 7 yrs. 1 year in the hospital, the rest in a clinical setting. I have always left positions to move up in my career. I left my last employer in April and have been unemployed since then, I figured I would take a short break to refresh and then get back out there. Not so. The last 4yrs I have been in HH setting, marketing for about 9 months for a HH agency, the company got bought out. It looks like I will have to enter back into HH, I don't have an option. I just don't understand how they can say there is a nursing shortage when there are plenty of nurses seeking employment. Even in a non specialty setting.

Hello all! I took a voluntary LOA after my last employer breeched my contract. I have 10+ yrs experience in women's health, home health and marketing. I'm wanting to get a job in women's health but apparently all my skills were lost while I was doing home health. ??? I don't understand. I gained experience, didn't lose, I have gained more knowledge over the years. I can't believe I live in Houston and can't find a suitable job? I would have never taken a personal break "burn-out" if I would have known it was this hard to get a darn job! Nursing shortage??? There is none! They just won't hire us! Is anyone having the same problem?
