  1. I found out around 4:30 on a Friday so I think y'all should hear tomorrow! Crossing my fingers for you!
  2. I found out at like 4:45pm on a Friday last year (end of August) - it was about 2 weeks after I interviewed and sooner than they had said! Hopefully it'll be soon for y'all!!!
  3. Congrats everyone!! Would love to keep up and hear how everyone does! Here's my email - [email protected]
  4. @future.rn.bsn I received the email about the interview on July 24th! Hopefully everyone will hear soon!
  5. @future.rn.bsn They sent out the emails last year around the last week of July I believe...I'll look up the actual date that I got my email!
  6. Hey guys!! Good luck to everyone with hearing back about interviews. Keep us posted! Looking forward to hearing how everyone does.
  7. Hi @colleenb.coop! I know they look at prior work experience (Healthcare and other types of work) as well as grades. They seem to really want a well rounded individual with maturity and life experience. Good luck!
  8. Hi everyone! I just found this thread and wanted to let you know that I was accepted to the 2016 Austin cohort but was able to defer to 2017 due to having a baby. I can answer questions about the admission process if anyone as them! Here's my email: [email protected]
  9. ckhrobison, my name is Katy and I initially was accepted to the 2016 Austin cohort but they have let me defer one year so I'll be starting in 2017! I can share with you about my admissions process and what I've learned up until this point. Here's my email below, this is probably the best way to reach me! :) Would love to keep up! [email protected]
  10. I'm not sure I am too!!!
  11. Selenex what is the group titled?
  12. I don't have CNA experience either...I'm just certified. I have an extensive ministry background and overseas missions experience though so I think that helped!
  13. I just got my acceptance email for the Austin location! Good luck everyone!
  14. Congratulations!!! That is so awesome :) hoping the rest of us hear soon!!!
  15. Ok that is true! I heard the same. Thank you and I'll let y'all know too! Good luck everybody, can't wait to find out.
  16. I feel the same way, I think it went well but you never know! Do y'all think we'll hear next week or the following?
  17. Hey guys! So sorry for disappearing on here. I had my interview in Dallas on Monday and I think it went well but you never know! Anxious to hear In September. Sounds like a lot of people on her have had an interview as well which is awesome - good luck everyone!!!!
  18. Hey guys, I got an email about an interview on Friday and was shocked it came that early...mine is in Dallas too. @brownsaucey, I called them to ask why it was in Dallas (since I"m applying to Austin cohort as well) and they said they are doing all the interviews in Dallas and Lubbock now! So don't worry about that :) Congrats on getting an interview - what time is yours on the 10th? Mine is at 9:40 I think. @beccatap good luck!! Keep us posted!!!
  19. Yes, good luck everyone!!! Think we'll be waiting about a month till we hear about interviews?? So exciting!
  20. ckraider14, thank you for the insight! I wish I could be open to other campuses but my husband's job is here in Austin he provides financially. That makes sense though that it would help your chances of getting in...thank you again for being available to ask questions!
  21. ckraider thank you so much!! I know we would all love your insight. Maybe fill us in on how the program has been for you?? Where are you located? Also - my biggest concern right now is getting in without much healthcare experience - what is your take on that regarding the people in your cohort? Did most of them have extensive healthcare experience? Thank you so so much!
  22. Hi abhousde! Thanks for the info! That is crazy you didn't get in last year with those great stats and some good experience. I keep hearing that people aren't getting in due to lack of experience which is somewhat discouraging for me! I decided to do this 2 years ago but haven't been able to get much hands on experience because I have a two year old and stay home with him. I've been taking classes and volunteering but haven't been able to do much beyond that. I wish they would emphasize that more on the website? It's odd to me as well because most people pursuing this program are changing careers, correct? So, wouldn't it be difficult to get experience in healthcare if you're coming from a very different background? I'm definitely preparing myself to not get in this time around! I have a 4.0 science GPA, 3.1 overall GPA, 84% on TEAS, CNA certified, and have volunteered at hospital/shadowed with my OBGYN. We'll see...good luck abhousde!!! Keep us posted.
  23. Evennursetobe, that's a bummer about Chemistry. I'm taking Intro right now at ACC and it's so easy! Especially after taking Physiology this last semester. I've heard TCU is a great program! I've honestly only applied to Tech at this point. I don't really have flexibility because we can't move due to my husband's job (and he supports us) and I have a two year old so I was attracted to the flexibility of Tech's program. If I don't get in this time around, I'll apply to A&M's 2nd degree program and Texas State for the next year probably, and re-apply to Tech. Hoping i just get in this time, but I know there's a good chance I won't...:-/ Just so ready to know, it's going to be a long wait!
  24. Evennursetobe, thanks for the reply! That is all interesting and good to know. I've heard some of the same stats and yes it does seem very competitive. I'm preparing myself to not get in this time around! I do know they like to see that you pursued working as a CNA but that just didn't work for me this past year...I wish you the best as well and thank you for your insight and encouragement!!! I'm glad to know the TEAS is pretty easy, ready to get it overwith! Where else have you applied? ACC?
  25. Hey y'all, yeah I had quite the issue with this. I saw it on the application (after I submitted it) and so I called Tech because there was no info anywhere on where to take the test, how to study for it, etc. and they told me I had to drive to Lubbock (from Austin) to take it. I was pretty frustrated since I had no idea about this until after I applied! 2 days later they emailed me that it wasn't a requirement anymore...strange.
