I still can't get the drug screen scheduling page to come up correctly! grumble grumble. Tried two computers at home and two at the school, tried both Explorer and Firefox and no luck. Going to try at work tonight. : /

Got mine too! I am a little frustrated though... having trouble with the site where we reserve a spot for a drug screening. It's not working! Have you ladies had any issues? Congrats by the way! So cool we've all been accepted! Like the Facebook idea. Looking forward to meeting you girls in person. :)

I didn't see your post about your interview until today! Crazy! lol I think we find out next week, or thereabouts, if we are in. At least that was their goal. Let me know what you find out and I will do the same!! My husband told me on Monday that he may be losing his job... so there is an added element of uncertainty about this coming fall semester. Hopefully, things will come together though.

Hey! I replied to the other thread where we are discussing this. My interview went really well! I feel like I did pretty well, but of course have no idea where I'll rank once they look at grades, ACT, and interview combined. Have you had your interview yet? They told me that they'll ask all candidates the same 11 questions, but I pretty much forgot what they asked me the minute I left the room. Stress I guess. The link you shared from this website did help a lot though. They never asked me why I wanted to be a nurse, but did ask a lot of questions to help them gage how I would handle specific situations. I was surprised to learn (from my questions for them) that they actually encourage their students to work in the healthcare industry on a part-time basis while in the program. That works perfect for me since I just started at an area hospital as a patient care technician. I'll probably cut my hours down to 12 or so this fall, if I'm selected! Let me know how it goes! Be sure to bring your own list of questions. They really seemed to like that! The interview was over in 30 minutes, so it was short and sweet. Take care and good luck!

Oh, forgot to mention... they actually encourage you to work while in the program. Say it's not recommended to work more than 20 hours, but that the experience will help you in the long run. At the same time, they said it isn't expected that you work, and it's entirely up to you. I told them I'd probably work 12 hours a week and they said that was perfect. Some people try to work full time while in the program and they mentioned that some of these students struggle. I can only imagine!

I had my interview today! I was pretty nervous, but I think I did ok. They told me they ask all candidates the same 11 questions, but I don't remember most of what they asked me, or what my replies were! lol I will say that the link on interviewing helped a lot. I didn't feel like there were any surprises. The interview only lasted 30 minutes and I came in with my list of questions, which I could tell they expected and were ready for. I just wore a pair of black slacks, a very light, fitted blue sweater and matching jewelry... nothing chunky, just simple and tasteful. Pulled my hair back away from my face and smiled a lot. There were two other interviewee's there with me waiting to be seen... female wore a nice pants suit and the male wore a suit too. They looked pretty sharp! Good luck! Let me know how it goes!!

Thx for the link! Looks like I have some studying and rehearsing to do! I met with a career counselor at JCCC last year and was told that they only look at the courses counting towards the RN program when calculating GPA ranking. So, courses like Anatomy, Human Development, Algebra, etc... basically the courses you listed on your application. If you get in, are you planning on working while going to school? I'm going to try and commit to 12 hours of work per week at the hospital. Be sure to tell me how your interview goes! I'll do the same.

I'm sure you will look great! I haven't hit the stores yet. Hoping I can make do with what I already have, but may have to purchase a new blouse. I'm shopping for a new laptop, so hopefully won't have to squeeze any new clothes from my tight budget. Do either of you have any ideas about what sorts of questions they may ask? I think my interview is going to have to be pretty polished for me to get in. My GPA (for classes counting towards the degree) is somewhere between a 3.13 and a 3.25.... I can't remember now and I'm too tired to get up and look! lol My ACT score for science was a 23 and overall was only a 24. Math killed me! On the upside, I live in Johnson County, so I'll get the residence points. Someone told me that the fact I already have a BA will help too... although I don't remember seeing that asked on the application. Anyway, I am ready for anything! I've got to get to studying for physiology! Taking it online and still trying to decide if that was a good idea. lol

I took the ACT at Olathe South High School. I received a post card from JCCC early January stating they hadn't received my results yet... so, guess we'll see! I was looking at some older threads and it looks like last year people were scheduling their interviews early March. Hopefully that means we won't have to wait too much longer. :)

Did you get your letter yet? I applied too and haven't heard anything. I hope they'll let us know either way.

I applied too and still haven't heard anything. My fear is that they didn't get my ACT scores in time. I think they were due no later than January 15th and I took the ACT on December 13th. I shouldn't have waited! I hope they'll send me a letter either way... so I'll have a concrete answer.
