  1. Childbirth Educator?

    So as I'm staying home with my newborn, I'm wanting to start my own business as a childbirth educator. I have my RN, BSN, and am enrolled in a childbirth certifying course, but don't have certification yet. Can I teach childbirth education privately as a business as a nurse? I mean who is to say I can't? I would obviously make sure my classes were evidence based and straight from referenced materials. I just don't want to start it and for some reason "get in trouble." Isn't certification just a credential to be "hired" as an educator for a hospital or to work for someone else? thanks so much!
