  1. Hello. First you should ask yourself what you really want. You mentioned that the OR manager is encouraging you to take the position. But does this position really line up with your goals and put you in a better position to achieve them? Or not? I'm in my first semester of nursing school and it's definitely a sacrifice. I try to stay mindful that it will pay off when I'm finished. I worked a lot of hours and saved money to cover my finances before starting the program. Thankfully that's also what's been keeping me afloat academically. Pushing back your RN degree to gain experience as an anesthesia tech isn't something that I would do. I would take the opportunity to accelerate my degree now. Be mindful that before being accepted into a CRNA program most programs require you to have two years Critical Care experience as a RN BSN. So after obtaining your RN BSN licensure you may have to have two years Critical Care experience as a prerequisite for a CRNA program.
  2. I called earlier in this week and asked when it will be. I was soooo tired of checking the mailbox! It's in the Downes Lecture Hall.
  3. No, but I do know that orientation is 11/6 at 11 am ?
  4. Yes! That's definitely me. Lol! I'm totally obsessing.
  5. Thanks! Same to you. I work with a new nurse who is 65!! Age is not a huge factor as long as you have the will and determination to back you up :) You'll do fine!
  6. I got in! :) Super excited!!
  7. Great! I called yesterday and was told around the end of September into October. Good luck to you. Hopefully we get a seat!!
  8. That's true. I received a credit from the Delaware aid needy student fund this past semester. It was a big help since I don't qualify for much financial assistance. Are you in the nursing program?
  9. Only recent high school graduates are eligible for the seed program.
  10. Anyone else waiting to hear if they got into the Jan 2015 PN program??
  11. Someone please respond, it's very important that I have the proper concepts here. Experienced nurses/nursing students please give me your input. Thank you!
  12. Fresh Air enters the lungs. It's high in oxygen and carbon dioxide is cycled from the blood to the lungs back into the atmosphere. Therefore, there's a high concentration of oxygen and a low concentration of carbon dioxide. Tissue capillaries need oxygen. Oxygen is transported from the lungs into the blood and then dispersed into tissue cells. Carbon dioxide is carried away from tissue cells into the lungs to be expelled back into the atmosphere. Therefore, there's a high concentration of oxygen and a low concentration of carbon dioxide. Did I get it right? Were these helpful essays explaining the gas exchange process??
  13. 7.Gas exchange includes a high concentration of gas (O2, CO2) moving to a low concentration. Explain the situations listed below. a. Alveolar air has a high concentration of O2 and a low concentration of CO2 . What happens? b. Tissue capillaries have a high concentration of O2 and a low concentration of CO2. What happens? ----->> I know that gas exchange occurs through diffusion. I'm confused on how to answer these questions PLEASE HELP!!
  14. I would go for it! It's 3 12's and it'll be at a well known hospital. Do you have reliable transportation and if you have small children do you have someone close that could be there quicker than you in the event of an emergency? If yes then go for it.
  15. Question 1.) Alveolar air has a high concentration of oxygen and a low concentration of carbon dioxide. What happens? Question 2.) Tissue capillaries have a high concentration of oxygen and a low concentration of carbon dioxide. What happens? I've been studying for my exam on the digestive, urinary, and respiratory system. These two questions on my study guide I am completely lost on. It's an online course. I know that the exchange of gases occur by diffusion. High to low and vice versa. Any help will be truly appreciated! Thanks
