Sorry for the long text, but im very anxious right now My parents have pushed me into nursing at my local college, East Stroudsburg University, in order for me to save money I'm still not exactly sure if nursing is my route of choice but my mom loves it. I have little choice in my parents' decisions for college. The local college is...okay, but there are several turn offs from it. I got a letter of NCLEX pass rates below 80 percent which I know isn't good, but if I work hard, I'll be fine. The student body is also a bit questionable as there tend to be parties a lot from whay I have heard but I could care less about that. The budget cuts are what scare me. I love music as I play guitar and want to move forward with my education on that as well, however, the school is eliminating all orchestra and choral music departments as well as others such as physics. Im scared to go, but I have little choice as my top choice, bloomsburg, closed it's doors for nursing and I'm just about out of options. My parents also will not allow for me to dorm as dorms add extra costs so they want me to stay home until I go for my masters in nursing and even then, I'm not sure of their devision of that aspect as of the time being. I would go for nursing as I'm following my parents advice, but I'm a nervous wreck at the moment. The school's tuition is $9k, but after financial aid, it will reduce to let's say $5k to $6k per year. That's not bad, but I'm missing out on my love for music which I'll have to take classes outside of school and lose the opportunity to dorm and make connections as a freshmanin another college. The nursing program at ESU shut down a few times for reasons beyond my knowledge, but what would happen wit budget cuts within the next few years? If nursing is cut, I'm definitely going for bloomsburg. Someday I'd like to transfer my credits to bloomsburg when the time is right, but I'd hate to disappoint my parents and lose their trust and I'll be paying a great amount for college loans, calculated at over $100k for all 6 years of college including masters in NP education. What advice is there for this situation?

Any reviews about East Stroudsburg University? Their NCLEX pass rate is pretty good with a 90% pass rate last year and the year beforehand but so many people hate it. Campus sucks, bad teachers, bad students, surrounding area is old and falling apart, constant arrests, robberies, STD issues, bad everything except fun parties and having fun. I can't find reviews about the nursing program though so i really need guidance before I decide to go. Im a senior in high school too. I'm gonna ask people in the program when I visit too but this is for extra help if that doesn't happen. Tuition is over 8k per year and I'm 15 min away too. I'm stuck with either this college or Northampton CC with is 40 min away and 6k tuition per year. Parents don't want me to dorm or commute to which is 1h 15min away bloomsburg because of bad experiences and debt with my step siblings, they don't want me to take a student loan and horrible winters here in PA. Is the loan worth it, should I risk ESU for the easy trip, NCC because of its pretty good ADN nursing program, or bloomsburg and take a loan and risk the tax rates and paying extra for debt in the future? I want to go for my BSN withy options and then maybe NP in bloomsburg.

My mom is an rn with a BSN degree. I forgot to add that, I'm really sorry. She tells me everything that a nurse does, why she loved it so much and to receive a college education to pursue nursing is fairly cheap if I'm careful with which college is go to for my degree. I really want to get in and I made terrible mistake by not going to extracurricular activities except for sports throughout high school.

Before my mom told me about it, I was unsure of going forth, but as the months go by and the more I learn about being a nurse, the more I desire to be a nurse.

My mom convinced me to pursue a RN or BSN major and I have a few colleges to choose from now. They are: -Moravian Acadamy -temple U -Bloomsburg U -St Lukes School of Nursing -North Hampton CC -Vilanova U -Marywood College -Im excited and determined, but scared because of how competitive nursing majors are nowadays(only so few seats per program). I possess a 3.92 unweighted GPA(mostly CP and a few honors) and 1530 on SAT's(I'm gonna do better next time). Also, what do I write about for an admission essay?! In writing one on how I altered XC in my school, inspiring my coaches for a reconstruction of view on running. Yay!!! I'm know for sure that I'm not so great at writing essays either(not one essay in English this year ). Any suggestions that anyone is willing provide in aid pave a path would help so much.
