I agree with everyone else 06crna CRNA if you do not have anything nice to say then save your words. It is perfectly reasonable for others to research fields of study and to take into consideration income especially when one will assume an enormous amount of student debt in the process.

Those selected up to this point have a deadline of 11/30 to confirm or decline their position in the program. Wish I had more to contribute, but keep your hopes up--I know it is easier said than done ;-)

Maybe for my source PM equates to 12-3 (lol).

I heard some are chosen for the AM sessions while others for the PM sessions. It all depends on how large the incoming class is initially. This information was based on a current nursing student who provided much needed insight about the program.

I would give respiratory therapy a response (accept) then once *hopefully* San Jac accepts you then you can make an informed decision based on all the opportunities presented to you.

You will need to upload all that information into certified profile. DTAP is required as well.

I received my acceptance email!! So for those still waiting there is HOPE!!

I sent out an email inquiring about it. Hope I don't receive the same response "be patient." The wait is torture ;-/

Ultimately, nursing schools usually wait until deadline to review ALL applicants and decided on the most competitive individuals for the program. Albeit, this program had an extended deadline of 11/18 yet sent out acceptance notices prior to reviewing all prospective applicants--that is a bit unusual to say the least. But, if a competitive application was submitted then more than likely those still awaiting a response will be accepted because NCLEX pass rates are what determine the program's ability to continue offering an nursing program. I am sure administration is working hard to provide the rest of the cohort notice of acceptance.

I submitted my application last minute. I have a 3.8 cumulative GPA with my bachelor's degree. I have a 4.0 on the pre-requisites and a HESI score of 98% first time around. I did email Ms. Navejar and she stated that there are still in the process of reviewing the rest of the applications. I am hoping it is soon as some of us have other program deadlines to either accept/decline. Lets all maintain our hopes up!

When is orientation?

You would reply based on your individual circumstances. So if you have been arrested then you would check yes. Further, if you have anything on your record even if it was expunged or as a juvenile your best bet to to submit a declaratory order to BON.

I am a current UH second degree nursing student preparing to graduate in December *super excited* The program accepts around 90+ that come in for orientation, at least this year they did, and by the end of the first semester the number decreases dramatically. This program is NOT for everyone and there is a high attrition rate because it is intense--2 years into 12 months! I have plenty of good suggestions so please feel free to send me a message. I was there once wondering if I would make it into the program. My stats TEAS 87 GPA 3.8 (nursing and cumulative) however they do look at your overall profile. Hope this helps! Often enough in advanced second degree BSN programs the requirement is to quit your job, family and sanity. The program is not for the faint of heart nor is it for those requiring extensive instruction. You should prepare prior to entering the program by showing some initiative and studying your anatomy and physiology book, chemistry, pharmacology, and pathophysiology books. I know that you may say well I will wait until the program starts but if you do then you are at a disadvantage because with the high attrition rates of said programs it is not worth failing out. Think about it other programs will not want you because you failed out of nursing school, you invested your own money or borrowed it with no return on your investment not to mention letting yourself down. In my experience, the program I am currently in started with 96 student and now in our last semester we are at 36 students--of those half have received jeopardy letters. Ultimately, the program goes fast and by the time your know it you will walk the stage but know your learning style, join a study group, make sure to keep any comments/remarks that may be misunderstood to yourself because unfortunately that would be to your demise. Remember network with your peers, do not join "cliques" and your nursing instructors are ALWAYS right. I wish you well in your own endeavors and hope this information helps.

Thank you for the clarification t&g0913. I am however going to decline their offer so whoever was waitlisted...congrats! I have accepted an offer elsewhere. Good luck on your journey because I am sure we will all have a tough year of studying up ahead.

Does the ABSN start in spring or summer 2015? It seems to me the staff are overwhelmed with emails that they are not thorough with their responses. I took all pre-req's plus taking currently pharmacology, nursing concepts, and pathophysiology.

I was accepted to ABSN :-) My question is those who narrowed their choice to UT Tyler would you mind letting me know why. I would have to relocated either way from San Antonio to either Houston or Tyler.
