Hi all! And welcome! I too am fairly new here... Recently was told by the nursing school I had applied to that they denied my acceptance was about to apply for a lpn program but decided to appeal the decision...... I got great news just before thanksgiving, they took another look and admitted me!!!!! So siked. Still have some prerequisites to complete but should be ready to start this fall. I just applied with hopes to begin in February.. I had applied to the RN but that didn't go as planned. They suggested going for my LPN first and then reapplying for the RN. Whatever it takes! Best of luck to you all. :0)

b747girl5 i wish I can give you advise based on my own personal experience, but I am not there yet. I have started a journal to mark small accomplishments to remind me down the road how difficult each step was along the way. The only advice I can offer you is to sit and try to reflect back on the feeling you had upon taking and passing your Teas exam the feeling you had upon receiving the acceptance letter... Etc. Sometimes remember the work we put nj to get us where we are makes it all worth while and might even give us that extra boost where you can honestly say to yourself, I CAN do it. I too have 2 children and know how difficult this can be, and I have only just begun. Stay positive. Remember you cannot change the past, just try to organize yourself in EVERY way, from home to school and don't lose faith in your self and your capabilities. You will be a great nurse one day. Not sure if you are religious at all, but nonetheless I will keep you in my daily prayers. Chin up butter cup. :0)

This was a very unfortunate comment to come across, and like studentnursemon86 said, if you need to start off with not to be rude, you clearly realize just how rude it is. I, for one, do strongly believe that yes, we do get ourselves where we want to go, and that faith alone will not do the job. You can pray and pray all you want, however if you don't put in your part and hard work it will be in vain. Faith along with works is my strongest suit. I know a lot of people believe it is a waste of time, because they may be lacking faith and others who think that if they pray and not put in work, magic will just happen. Faith along with works, on the other hand is a beautiful sight to watch as it plays itself out. I wish all of you future RN's out there all the best during your great times, and during your not so good ones, which I am sure we will all have at some point. Dannygurl, I too am starting nursing school in the spring! I've been reading A LOT of articles here on how terrible nursing school will be. Like some of the other members have said, I am sure it is difficult but not impossible. I too, like LabRat3 am 30 and starting a brand new career but am so excited to do so. It has been a dream of mine for so long and to see it in the works is amazing!!! Best of luck to you dear and let's def stay in touch! Spring is right around the corner :0)
