  1. I read that you can transfer over your CNA license from one state to another by paying for the fees to do so, but it depends which states allow which states...some require a total do over.
  2. Looking online wanted to know where there is a LIST of states that have CNA reciprocity if you earned your certification from NJ??? I'm looking at ARIZONA, CALIFORNIA, TEXAS, NEVADA, AND WASHINGTON STATE ONLY.
  3. I understand what you are all trying to say, I will take these comments seriously and will go for BSN instead...
  4. The class is at another building away from the college...
  5. The local college here charged 1275 last season, for the Fall they upped it to 1400...everything but your physical, exam fees, and clothes is included.
  6. I'm here in New Jersey and plan on taking courses at a local community college where I'm living right now. The course description does not mention anything about immunizations nor anything about job placement, but the cost is 1400$. Scrubs not included but books are.
  7. Scratch the last question...read my other posts and you are from Nevada...
  8. What state do you live in?
  9. Do ADN face difficulty in terms of moving from one state to another versus BSN???
  10. Does that necessarily make ADN obsolete??? Supposing someone was in good standing with a Rehab Place as a CNA. Said person then gets an ADN and continues to work at said Rehab Place. Then the person attempts to apply at a Hospital. How would having an ADN impact said persons chances of getting hired???
  11. What does NV stand for, Nevada???
  12. Yikes, in our school it's 90 hours total...
  13. I'm interested in getting CNA certification. What is the program's course of study, what type of material does one need to know? Sure there any books I can read now to learn more? I'm located in New Jersey...thank you...
  14. Hi, my name is Pete M, I'm interested in becoming a CNA, is anyone on here from the Bergen County, NJ area? What type of experience can I expect in class? How many books do I need to get and what are the books about? I was thinking about taking courses in HOHOKUS or BERGEN community...
  15. Is a CNA more likely to get hired at a hospital or a Rehab place. Are CNA and a Rehab Assistant or PT Assistant or Occupational Assistant interchangeable???
  16. Do I need bother continue applying with FAFSA?
  17. I did not know this. Darn I assumed grants would be open to anyone at all times. Where do I look for what type of scholarships I can get?
  18. I heard they are phasing ADN out by 2020???
  19. ??? What are your stories??
  20. Right now I work manufacturing 8 hours and I can get the CNA cert in one month then get a new job THEN move on to thinking about BSN, this is why I asked my Post, wanted to know what people did and what their situation is like
  21. Extremely helpful responses, thanks... I'm going to go into the Accelerated BSN program. I hold a BA in psychology. Planning to go back to my Alma Mater of Rutgers at either Newark or New Brunswick. What I want to do before that is get CNA certified because it's easier and I can attain in 1 month and possibly work. If I go into the program which in reality is 2 years away for me, because I'm studying now, I HAVE TO support myself...and yes I plan on financial aid and grants.
  22. A good point was made on my other post how in some states one's first year in nursing program certifies them to be a CNA. How is the situation in New Jersey? I notice some nursing students have easier times getting a job at Rehab places.
  23. I'm going to do that as well...problem is I want to do it one step at a time and unfortunately I will need to work to support myself. Even with financial aid an accelerated BSN still needs to cover the rest of the $35k needed. Being in manufacturing is physically draining, I want to get out as soon as possible, if CNA program is only 1 month, I'd rather do it. It's only 90 hours or so at the local college here.
  24. Want to become a nurse, I currently work in manufacturing, I have a BA in psychology, but realized I can do more with my life...want to be a CNA to get the "F..." Out of manufacturing
  25. I'm from New Jersey and going to take CNA classes so that I can get my foot in the door with a hospital or rehab...hopefully...
