Hi all, I work on a Medical Surgical Telemetry unit as a Registered Nurse in the Bay Area. I would like to know which hospitals pay the highest in the Bay/Northern California area to RN's. The top 5 hospitals that pay the most please and if you happen to have a range of what they pay, kindly include in your responses. Thanks for all your feedbacks.

FNP Primary Care, unit to work on???
Hi all, I am a Registered Nurse on a Medical Surgical Telemetry unit. My career goal is to become a Family Nurse Practitioner in primary care and i would like to work on the unit(s) which will be relevant to my future career path. This brings me to the questions, which unit(s)would better prepare me for my career as a FNP in the primary care setting I am looking at transferring to ICU, but not sure if this will be the best move considering that i will be working in clinics and/ health centers. I was thinking ICU is best for those who want to become Acute Care Nurse Practitioners. I am not sure about ED and how it would prepare me for my journey. I also thought of ambulatory setting. After giving it so much thought and knowing that i do not just want to rack up years of experience on units that will not be of much advantage to my career path, hence decided it is best to put this out here to hear opinions from you all. Also, what minimum number of years would be best to have on each recommended unit(s). I know that might also be based on individual comfort level. I would appreciate your responses and advice please. Thanks.

Questions for Bay Area Family Nurse Practitioner
I am a Registered Nurse planning to relocate to the Bay area soon. I am seriously considering going for Family Nurse Practitioner program, but skeptical as i have some questions that need answers before i can make the next career move. I know how hard it is for newly licensed Registered Nurses to secure jobs in the Bay area and that will be the last thing i want to go through after spending about $100k for graduate education. I would appreciate if prior or current FNP's in the Bay area can help clear the air please. How is the job market for new grad FNP's in the Bay area. Will i struggle like new RN's to land an FNP position as a new graduate? What is the salary range of FNP'S in that area(I know this is more personal and i appreciate whatever information i can get) Is it worth it to work as an FNP in the Bay area as opposed working as an RN. From what i have read, it seems the pay is not much of a difference. Thanks for your responses.

RN jobs in N. California
Hi all. I am a newly licensed RN with 6 years of experience as an LPN looking to relocate to d Bay area. I would appreciate if anyone can send me the names of hospitals hiring new nurses. The ones I have seen so far require at least 1 yr of experience as a Registered Nurse which I don't have. All responses will be appreciated. Thanks

Me too, guess they are using both interchangeably or one process comes before the other. Well, I wish everyone goodluck. Did anyone apply to UC Davis as well?

new grad RN programs in northern California
Hi. I am in the same situation presently and wondering if you finally got a job in California. I will be graduating from a BSN program in December and already feeling frustrated on getting a residency program/job in the Bay area because of the competition. My fiance lives there and moving will be impossible if I don't get an offer there. Curious to know if you finally got a job in CA or had to stay in Nevada for some yrs of experience as that will be my second option, to stay in Pennsylvania for 1-2 yrs to gain some experience before relocating.

I applied for the rn residency program as well and my status shows 'application in process'. Did everyone else go through this stage before it changed to 'application in review'?

What is the job market like in San Francisco Bay Area for new registered nurses.
I will be graduating in few weeks with bachelor's degree in nursing from the east coast. I am seriously considering taking my exam in Delaware where i live and apply for licensure by examination in California. My plan is to relocate to San Francisco Bay Area if I am able to get a job as a new nurse, but I see the job market is extremely competitive. Does anyone know hospitals that hire new grads and how are the new grads with no experience getting their first jobs? Thanks.
