  1. So, needless to say, I really can't think of any foreign student off the top of my head that even made it past the second quarter. Discrimination like that totally makes me feel like dying.
  2. That same teacher was known for being racist too (her dad and family were very racist). Those students with an accent, if they dared not speak each syllable with the clarity of a native speaker, were just trashed in class. One guy, he had to stand up and read sentences in front of the other students, just to show he could actually speak English! The look on the teacher's face was a mix of cruelty and pleasure in the total domination of the student.
  3. Haha, they don't mess with the grades at this nursing program. The way they fail people is clinicals, where they can fail a person on anything. The teachers I had at the school would openly talk about the students that they didn't like, and those students didn't tend to move on. One girl, who had the highest grade for the class, was failed because the call light of a patient slipped onto the floor after she left the room. The teacher even refused to go back to the room and show her it. The worst, which this never happened to me but it was bad enough watching, was one teacher publicly yelling at students in the busiest section of a rehab facility. It was such a loud, shrill voice too, and she would just berate a student for what seemed like 10-20 seconds. She was temporarily banned for doing this constantly, until there were no more clinical nurses (like if someone called in sick).
  4. I totally agree. Thanks for the advice Blondie, that does help. Going into nursing is a field where a person has to be pretty tough and willing to do an excellent job.
  5. thanks for the tips Rua
  6. [COLOR=#003366]RNsRWe You are smart, there's a reason you wanted to post. why not contribute? What tips do you have that can be valuable?
  7. Blondy, If you didn't know what school I went to, how would you know that there wasn't abuse! Did you read the part that no one denied it? Blondy....here is your chance to contribute something here.
  8. You're right Viva, I'm not getting far here. But I have had some great tips. Viva, you seem like a smart girl, what tips do you have? Now is your time to shine.
  9. I don't think throwing advanced degrees on the table will do any good. It is just an illustration that I know what school is like.
  10. I cannot say which degrees I have, mainly because I will be identified on this site if someone looks at it. Although that is obvious proof, I wouldn't lie about having degrees.
  11. That is a really great idea Cohiba! I think that I might use that. That is so brilliant!
  12. Hey blondy, What school did I go to for nursing?
  13. What kind of social media do you recommend? I am not very tech savy Btw, thanks for helping. I really appreciate it.
  14. [COLOR=#003366]SionainnRN - This is a clear, straightforward question: Do you believe that abuse in nursing doesn't exist? 1.) Yes 2.) No It's okay, I also used to think that focusing on details would distract me from the idea in front of me.
  15. Which part of this isn't clear? I can give you a days worth of examples of abuse, but it isn't a question of if it is abuse or not. I am asking about options of what to do because of this situation.
  16. Blondy, Do you believe that abuse in nursing doesn't exist? 1.) Yes 2.) No Don't worry Blondy, I used to be scared to answer these questions too :)
  17. I don't get it, what does English grammar have to do with abuse?
  18. This is a clear, straightforward question Ayvah: Do you believe that abuse is nursing doesn't exist? A.) Yes B.) No
  19. Now there is a solution! I have gone to the local newspaper, and they never got back to me about it. Maybe I should go back again.
  20. And to ask it bluntly "Do you guys on this forum deny that abuse exists in nursing?" It is simply a yes or no question.
  21. To make the story more clear for people, this is it: There is abuse in a program, which no one inside the program has denied, including the head and the dean. I know that, because I have talked to them. There is no where in that network of people to go to, because the faculty can do whatever they want without disciplinary action. I have went through the entire chain of command at the school. Which is something a lot of people have done. But it is an abusive environment, with no one to go to. Outside of the standard answers of "go up the chain of command," what can a person do about this problem?
  22. It's alright Ayvah, I understand. I also use to deny that abuse in the nursing field existed, in any part of it too! It's uncomfortable to admit that nurses can do harm too. I'll have to go to another school. I have a bunch of advanced degrees, so at least my spirits aren't crushed because of the experience.
  23. And she actually said you'd fail anyways? What is a person suppose to do with that if they are so committed to a certain result as a teacher.
  24. I can't stand social injustice like that, it is sad to see people abuse such positions like "nurse" and "teacher"
  25. I feel bad for you, that sucks. How is a person suppose to succeed if the teachers put in so much effort to see them fail?
