  1. Yes I want to get done with as much pre reqs as possibly and boost my average GPA from couple years ago before I was in the navy. I feel like taking these science classes, plus the total amount of credits will help raise my Cum GPA.
  2. Wow really? Which one was harder or took more time? I have heard AP 2 is easier than AP 1? Is this true?
  3. No all in one test and one week, it is ridiculous. Idk if this is normal or not for a summer class, but we do 4-5 chapters per week and test on mondays.... and practical next day. Its a one month class
  4. Is Micro harder compared to A&P?
  5. I am not working atm so I will have time to study. I am planning on taking these classes for fall in a community college: A&P 2 Micro Possibly Chem 1 or another science class Possibly English (I have the credit but got a B from couple years back) That is like 16 credits, so I should be able to take that. What you guys think?
  6. Thing about flash card is its going to take me way too long to make all of them plus all the terms of muscles i.e location, direction, action. i really thought skeleton system was going to be the hardest part, but I was OH SO WRONG =__=
  7. I am currently taking a one month A&P class with Psychology and the AP is really kicking my ass study wise, I have managed to get good grades but if I want to get an A, I have to get an A on this upcoming test... So...I have to study what my teacher says "over 600 muscles" by this coming monday for the test, along with NEURONS and Spinal Cord chapters........... How do I study the muscles?? Please give me tips! BTW I have one day to study all the muscles, an entire day...can I do it?? I have to use my other two days for the other chapters...
  8. Hey guys I am planning on taking A&P 2 and Microbiology this semester but the microbiology has two sections one is regular and the other says for Non-Science Majors...? Does it matter which one I take? Is one supposed to be harder? Also would you recommend Micro or Chemistry for schools with ADN and BSN programs in TEXAS?
  9. Hey guys what you guys think of Chamberlain college of nursing in Houston? Can anyone check or provide me with the important accreditation programs are looked for? They provide a 3 year on campus BSN program. Please let me know what you think. Thanks. Also I will be using my GI BILL to attend....
  10. Dang that worries me a lot....I decided to opt out of Pharmacy because of the saturation and it seems nursing is just as saturated..... :/ If I have to, I will go into rural areas or who knows maybe I will go back to Navy in the nurse corps....lol =__= So I talked to somebody in Concorde and they seem to have NO requirements to join lol....should I do it guys? Will jobs really emphasize the type of schools? I mean obviously a UT grad is better but how much of a difference... ?
  11. Thank you so much for your responses and support everyone.... I am in a situation right now where I find myself for once a little lucky. I don't need to pay rent and not much for food right now, so ALL I want to do is study AS much as I can this semester and want to take MAX classes if possible. I will study at night if I have to , I am even thinking about going two colleges. But I want to have everything ready by January to apply (Including HESI). The tricky part is all these classes have around 3-4 courses but the last two courses usually vary from A&P 2, to Micro to statistics.....I am having a hard time with this at the moment. I wish there was any colleges that allowed me to finish A&P 1 and 2 in the same semester..... Also why is it bad to go to a "bad name" nursing school? Is it because of the education you will receive or because jobs will ask for where you got your nursing degree from?
  12. Its not transferring, once you get the credits you need you just apply to a University/program that offers a degree in nursing.
  13. Hello everyone, I just finished 4 years in the Navy and am returning to my hometown in Dallas, TX. I currently have 75 credits but they go towards an associate in computer science....I am going to start my Pre-Reqs this semester and have started studying for the HESI. My biggest BIGGEST fear is....the wait period. I know I am not the only one but I do not want to wait 1, 2, 3 years to get into an ADN or maybe even a BSN program....I decided to do this over Pharmacy and certain goals I want to reach at a certain time.... I have heard everyone say there are school that have no wait period and aren't as competitive and in it for the money, I wouldn't mind going to one of these schools as I will be using my GI- BILL, and I don't mind what state. I am willing to work hard and live anywhere in any condition if need be, as long as I don't have to wait years........ Could ANYONE provide me with the names of these schools across the nation? Preferably TX?
