Finishing the courses depends on the dates of registration. Example: one of my courses started january (35 hour online) then the other was april (2 day workshop). We were required to finish the courses prior to registering for the clinicals and because of that I was only able to apply for the fall schedule for practicums. We were able to get a practicum slot by November-January. This track still took a year to finish because of the delays. Looking for a job is not hard since I am already working as an LPN and was absorbed by my unit when I got my RN.

hospitals do not have any volunteer position for care aide.. most of their volunteer positions are information/greeter and way finder. I did volunteer before and that help get me connected to the right people and get the feel of working in a hospital setting here.

I am also a RN from the Philippines and until now I am still processing my nursing assessments. It is difficult to look for a full time nursing job especially for newcomers. Most of the jobs are "casuals", meaning you don't get to have specific hours to work in a week. Also, nurses works in different settings unlike in our country which most of our graduates prefer hospital based practice. It is tough to find jobs anywhere, what you need to think about is the quality of life you wanted to have since weather must be included in your deciding factor. That being said..be ready to upgrade because our BSN is considered as a 2-3 year college degree here.
