Oh yes I watched the whole thing. I thought David Kirby did a heck of a job. I find it ironic that not one of these so called experts that claim that thimerisol does not cause autism will never debate live. I also noted Dr. Finerberg admitted thimerisol was a neurotoxin but it does not cause autism. Well, I would have loved to ask him if they know its neurotoxic, and it does not casue autism then what is it doing in vaccines, and what does it cause. These people have told so many lies they are triipping over them. It will be a cold day in haites before the IOM meets again to review all the biological studies that have come out in the last two years. More are coming. Peggy

Melissa, If you added up all the homeschoolers, the Jehova Witness's, the Christian Scientists, and the Amish. (something that should be easy enough) they would have a diverse enough genetic population to do this study. I think while they are at it, they should check for a few other things like juvenile diabetes, asthma, and other chronic diseases that are on the rise in this generation. Wow! I thought I had read every study ever done regarding mercury and autism. I have never seen this one. My feeling is they will never admit the link between thimerisol and autisum until one or both of the following ahs happened. 1. Everyone involved in this coverup is dead, or 2. So true, Some schools will Dx SID, but do not fully explain to parents the impact it has, or that OT can help with the disorder. Mainly becasue its more services=$$$$. Here is a tip. If any child that is Dx on the spectrum whether it be PDD/NOS. aspergers, etc you can bet there is a 99.9% chance they have SID. This also has a lot to do with the bi-polar Dx's. The child is fine and all of a sudden he/she erupts. Bologney, its more likely they have held it together for as long as they can and then wham they hit that point were they can no longer tolerate the stimulation. In my most honest opinion I feel it was my granddaughters SID that created most of the behavior problems. There is an incredible amount of information on how SID effects children. It encompasses almost every aspect of their life. It has a huge impact on how they function. This is why I say it must be addressed. I can remember being called to my granddaughters school becasue she detroyed the principals office. We are talking throwing the computer om the floor, tipping ove chairs. It was quite a scene. When I got there she was hiddiing under the desk holing like a dog. Very scary. As soon as she heard my voice she immediately calmed down. The school nurse said she had a psychotic break. What it really was, was flight or fight. She tried to get out of the school. When they grabbed her and brought her to the principal she proceeded to tear the room apart. The school psychologist told me my granddauhgter had a serious anxiety disorder. I remember saying I know, and you are the ones causing it. Why do you people continue to try to force a square peg into a round whole. It was after that, and refusing any medications they agreed on an out of district placement. Its costing her school district $65,000.00 a year to educate her. It was worth every penny. The speech therapy, the OT, PT and the small classrooml all paid off. Don't be bullied. The schools have an obligation to educate your child in the least restrictive environment. Too many parents want their kids mainstreamed at all costs. This is not always the best thing especially when they are very young. Melissa, What you describe is almost identicle to my granddaughter at his age. I nevre did allow the school to do any testing. I don't trust them. They like to pin them with the Dx's that require the meds. If I could suggest one more thing its to have him tested for SID (Sensory Intergration Disorder) this is most likely why he cannot stand a big class. My grandduaghter did the same exact thing your son did. climb under tables, and cover her ears. This smacks of SID. The behaviors are usually caused when they go into a sensory overload. It sounds like he also needs OT for the sensory issues. I personally think that the kids that are being Dx with ADHD are really SID. You were smart to get him off the meds. Especailly if it was a stimulant. This makes them more anxious. Do some research on SID and I am willing to bet you will be shocked at what you find. The good news is aspergers kids usually get better with time. They mature very slowly. Make sure he gets all the time he needs. If his behaviors increase in anyway look at the classroom very closely. These kids can't stand big classroom's even bright colors bother them, a lot of furniture, white noise. If you met my granddaughter today you would never know she ws on the spectrum. Thats the good news. You must be very careful that he gets the right environment to learn in too much stress will cause PTSD, and depression. They do not have this problem to begin with. Don't let them bulls_it you. The schools are the ones to cause this problem by forcing these kids to learn in environments they are not neurologically equipped to function in. They do get better control as time goes on. Get the test for SID. DON'T GO THE DRUG ROUTE. If he is having problems You can bet its the wrong IEP. Peggy

I'm not sure what state you live in but most allow you a medical exemtion, almost all offer a religious exemption, and some offer philosophical exemption. There is plenty of scientific evidence that mercury in any form is a potent nerotoxin. I personally don't believe autism exists. I think what we need to start calling it is mercury poisoning. I find it amazing that the scientific community you have so much respect in would like us to believe that mercury in fish is dangerous. Don't eat it, but we can inject it into tiny one day old infants with no blood brain barrier. There is clincial evidence that thimerisol destroys neurons. Its on film. It kills everything. In fact it kills brain cells better than it does bacteria. It depends on what scientific body you want to listen to. The ones that are independent and want the truth, or the ones that are responsible for what has happened and want to cover it up. If the autism spike is the result of better dx's and not a real increase where are all the twenty year old autistics. They would be pretty hard to miss don't you think? It is obvious to me from your responses where you are getting all your information from. Since you have so much respect for science why not go to the IOM's website and listen to the hearings. Listen to the scientisits who do believe its the thimerisol, and how they have come to these conclusions. They are the ones in the labs doing the clinical studies while the FDA and CDC are spending money on flawed epidemiology studies. My granddaughter is doing fantastic thanks to alerternative medicine. The only thing allopathic medicine had to offer was more brain damaging psych drugs, and of course more toxic vaccines. I'm done with main stream medicine. I'll put my faith in what god gave all of us. Our immune system. Most of us still have one, its not in a bottle, and best of all its free.

The MMR supposedly never contained thimerisol, however at one of the Government Reform Commitee hearings that Dan Burton held I remember hearing one of the scientists state he found trace amounts of thimerisol in the MMR. It was never listed as having thimerisol. When one of the commitee members asked him how this could be he stated he did not know and maybe he should asked the pharmaceutical company that made it why it was in there. His opinion was that they may be using thimerisol in the processing of the vaccine to kill bateria. This is interesting since they are still using it in the processing phase of the supposedly thimerisol free infant vaccines. I have come to the conclusion that the pharmaceuticals can do any dam thing they want and the FDA will do nothing. If this is the case and I believe it is, we have more than just thimerisol in vaccines to worry about. A perfect example of this is the Vioxx fiasco. The FDA tried to muzzle their own scientists. Most people think the FDA is funded by tax dollars. It is not anymore. Most money that is funding the FDA is coming from the pharmaceuticals. There in lies the problem and its a big one. Peggy

grannynurse, Nothing could be further from the truth. I recently took my granddaughter in for her yearly physical for camp. The pediatrican noticed she had not received her last MMR. DPT, or polio. He suggested I give her a tetnus booster. I have to tell you that I no intentions of giving my granddaughter another vaccine. She ran a very high fever after her fourth DPT, had convulsions and regressed losing all speech. She did not speak again until almost five years old. When I questioned the Ped about the thimerisol he said it was out. To make a point I asked to see the vial. Low and behold the expiration date was 2005 and conatined the full 25mcg of thimerisol. Also the thimerisol free infant vaccines still contain trace amount of thimerisol as they use thimerisol in the processing. Here is another tidbit. At the last IOM meeting in Feb 2004 Dr. Mark Geier (geneticist) began testing the new infant vaccines and was finding the full amounts of thimerisol. Here is the kicker. It was not listed in the packaged inserts nor in the PDR. This is illegal. Our government agenices are not telling the truth about the timerisol. They refuse to give grants to research this issue. According to Dr. Mark Geier (who stated before the IOM) the reason they will not do this is becasue they already know. They plan on phasing out the mercury gradually Even though they are stating its already out becasue they know if they take it out all at once and the numbers of Dx autism drop this will be further proof it was the thimerisol. This would put the pharmacueticals in a bad place defending themselves against the thousands of filed lawsuits that are pending. The FDA,and the CDC is more interested in protecting the pharmaceuticals than they are the public. Peggy

First of all. These are not rumors. There are over 1500 studies that prove mercury in any form is neurotoxic. Autism is a horrible disease. You speak of SIDs. Lets look at SIDS. it showed up just around the time the DPT came on the scene. Many parents have sued VICA and won who's child died of SIDs after DPT. My own son 37 years ago went to his 2 month check up got his first DPT screamed for five hours and then stopped breathing. Do you know what they told me in the ER. He was a near miss SIDS. They refused to blame the vaccine he got twenty minutes before his little brain began to swell. I remember it like it was yesterday. His pediatrician actually wanted to give him another. I do believe had I not refused he would not be here today. He would have been listed as SIDS. Who is it that makes the decison that a childs death from a vaccine is more acceptable than a child that dies from a disease the vaccine was supposed to prevent. Do we weaken the strong to protect the weak. I for one am not willing to sacrafice my child or myself. I am not affraid of these disease's I had them all as a child and recovered just fine. The only cases of polio in this country since the seventies is caused by the vaccine. The real truth about our whole vaccine program is available if someone wants to know. We msut all stop buying into the propaganda and start doing our own research. Many porple who have bothered to research have found that the CDC loves to scue statistics. especially if they want to promote a new vaccine. All the thousands of people who supposedly died from the flu every year. Someone actually got into thier data base and counted the deaths from the flu. If I recall it was somewhere in the 200's. The CDC has known for years that the flu is a very mild disease in healthy children. Now they want them to get vaccinated for it. Somehow every single death from the flu in children was being plastered all over the media to scare parents. They failed to mention that those childen that died had other serious medical issues that put them at risk for complications. It is not the disease's parents are affraid of if they don't vaccinate. It is the lies, and coverups by the government agencies that refuse to tell the truth, Its the studies they won't do to protect the children who are at a higher risk for adverse reactions from the vaccines. No one has any accountability. The pharmaceuticals withhold information on dangerous drugs that are on the market (Vioxx) and these agenices are literally getting away with murder. There are studies, and they are clinical, not epidemiological studies. The reason you have not heard about them is they are being done by independent researchers that have not been funded by the CDC, or NIH, or any other Government run agency. They have gone way to far with these vaccines. If you read on the CDC's website the reason they recommended the chickenpox vaccine was for monitary reasons. Keeping parents at work. 6 mos before they made the recommendation for infants to receive the Hep B they were bragging about how low the rate was in the US. Their reason for recommending it for infants was because they could not get the high risk population to take it. So lets vaccinate all the newborns. I am 53 years old. I don't recall ever having an ear infection in my life. Everyone smoked non filter cigarettes but kids didn't have asthma, or upper respiratory infections like they do now. We are slowly being chemically poisoned. Its in our air, our food, our clothes. its everywhere. Most of our medical research is being funded by pharmaceuticals. They gained control of our media through advertisement dollars, they control our government with campaign dollars, now they are after the vitamins and alternative therapies because it is cutting into their profits. We have been brainwashed into thinking there is a pill for everything. I am sick of going to my doctor and getting 10 minutes of his time and walking out with a pill to treat my symtom.
