  1. Thanks MegRt, really appreciate your help.
  2. Thanks for the reply and I apologize for taking so long to thank you my internet has been down. It seems even the least bit of rain messes with my service. One more question though. The college said that I would need a community based nursing book. Anybody not able to get through the exam without it? Thanks again.
  3. Which were the main books people used for the FCCA? Were there a few books you used more than others. i.e. med. surg. , maternity, psych, etc? Also just curious about how many questions are on the test? Any input would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance for all your posts :)
  4. Just finished my last test before the FCCA and CPNE. I'm so excited to be finished with that portion. I was curious how long it took some of you to actually receive the FCCA from Excelsior? I called and they said aprox. a month. I was thinking they might be exaggerating a little. Also they didn't mention a price. Anybody recall how much it cost? Thanks for listening and your input.
  5. First of all congrats on passing thats awsome! How long did it take for you finish, and what study material did you use for the exam? Thanks
  6. When I first started thinking about Excelsior I came across I study smart. I bought the books they recommened. After I figured out they weren't for me I still had the text books. So I used a med surg book that I had gotten and a peds book. The second time around I went ahead and broke down and bought all the required reading excelsior had on the test outline. So I read all the required reading and then i went through a Saunders NCLEX study guide book and answered all the questions on the disk. Then I also read Lisa Arends disk. She actually had a lot of info on it. Especially if you look at the final review she seemed to hit just about everything in just four pages. Granted you have to have an understanding of the material see that she is hitting everything. I also did the practice exams from excelsior. Form A I scored a 46 and Form B a 64 after going back over it I think I should have made a 76 but, I was rushing and didn't have my full attention on the quiz.
  7. I took LS 1 over again. I scored an "A" but, I'm worried that they may try and may me take it again because the content seemed exactly the same.
  8. Hello, I was curios if anyone has ever had to re-take an excelsior exam? If so were the questions on the test exactly the same as the test you took before but in a different order. The reason I ask is becuase I re-tested recently and I think I got the same exact test. I did really well and made and A but, I'm worried I might have to take it over again because of a possible mistake. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
