  1. So I'm in my second to last semester of nursing school at the University of South Florida. We are finally into our pediatrics/OB clinicals and classes and I feel like I've finally found the area of nursing that I am most passionate about. For the first time in nursing school I actually enjoy going to class and reading my homework assignments. Its an awesome feeling to feel so excited and passionate about something. I can definitely see myself loving going to work every day as a neonatal or pediatric nurse. The only thing is I know this is going to be a very competitive field to get into. I was wondering if anyone knows what the chances are of being hired as a nurse in this field right out of college or if anyone has any tips about things that I can do now to make myself stand out as a candidate in this field when I graduate. Thanks!
  2. Hi! Thanks for offering! Today is actually the first day I've ever thought about military nursing. I am currently going through my nursing school clinicals at the VA and my nurse today was lamenting to me about how she wishes she had joined the military as a nurse. The way she described it, it sounds like there are a lot of great opportunities (traveling, pay, etc). I still have a lot of research to do but for the first time I am seriously considering it as a career path. Could you please tell me a little bit about the process to become a navy nurse and what types of job duties they typically perform. If you have any opinion on the pros and cons that would be incredible helpful too. I'm especially looking to hear from someone with experience in the field to hear how they like it. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks! :)
