No, cost doesnt include books or supplies. Only covers cost of classes and lab fees (including ATI access). All other supplies and uniforms and books are extra. Try Craigslist for previous students selling. Or amazon, i got mine pretty cheap.

I wish I could tell you that this gets easier guys!! Hang in there. The ride is bumpy :) When you are accepted, you will be running like a chicken with it's hea... oh nevermind. But, it is indeed psycho crazy the amounts of things you will need to get done and get turned in on time to guarantee your seats. Take a breath and realize that all this waiting is preparation for your patience and adaptability you will need to be the best nurses out there! It's all good, guys & gals. Enjoy the process because your head will be buried before long! Oh, and don't be disappointed if it takes another week to get your letters. They run a lot later now with the new dean of nursing. This process is not a smooth one, trust me! They need to work out about a million kinks. Rainbows & Butterflies everyone... rainbows and butterflies (it's a happy world I live in )

Just think if it this way, every time they have to pick up the phone (and they won't tell you anything, trust me) is another 5 minutes they are spending NOT printing and sending your letter! Just sayin' :-p

Here you go everyone :-) https://allnurses.com/florida-nursing/phcc-fall-2014-a-889734-page114.html#post7998208 hope it builds some confidence! As for professors and class. We are all in one class. The two professors trade off teaching lecture (Tuesday 9:00-2:30) Then there are 3 clinical instructors. (Class is Tues and Thurs 8:00-3:00) Again, all in one class. The two professors take turns teaching clinical skill. The class is divided into three equal groups. Each group is assigned a clinical instructor. Each instructor goes to a different hospital for clinicals. That will be your clinical group for the duration of your schooling. hth!!- PHSC 2015 Nursing Hopefuls
Sorry for delay everyone!! As for stats of those of us in this semester, we had a running list too. I dont have it saved but i'll try to find the page. Check under PHCC 2014 Fall HOpefuls (or click my profile and search my previous posting to get you to the right forum) ScarletJones posted an updated list even noting who made it so that would be the best list to find (again, i'll search too)Honestly, scores calculated in the low 80% got in!! You are all looking good!- PHSC 2015 Nursing Hopefuls
We have a new dean of nursing so expect the letter to be accurate. Ours were spot on. We all figured they were just saying a scripted response too (which it really is) but they in no way were early! Didn't get until 1st of July. Hoping proves different for you all, but don't be disappointed if the letter they sent is actually accurate. And be prepared for that to be the last accurate information you get... just sayin'- PHSC 2015 Nursing Hopefuls
Hello all! Just wanted to send a few things out there for you to chew on since you are all anxious anyway :) Uniforms: Tops from Bookstore. White pants from anywhere. I actually think the ones at the store are nicer than the ones you buy elsewhere. Some don't like that they are elastic, but they look nicer in style. Not a flare at the bottom though so if you like that don't get them from the store. I got mine from Wal-Mart believe it or not! And, I don't even shop there often but another nursing student 2 semesters ahead of me gave me a heads up. Just make sure they are white. Undergarments: Men?!? Get yourselves some white boxers to go under and save yourselves Ladies, wear nude and white hose are a great way to cover up!! Shoes: All white, small logos or small stripe of a color is accepted. That's about it. DON'T GET MESH ANYTHING! You will be covered in so many bodily fluids. You do NOT want that in the mesh. Get all leather so you can wipe those things down. Letters: They will not come when you expect them... Just come to terms with it! Ours came a couple weeks after the previous classes did. Also, it will NOT be a thick envelope. It's an acceptance form you return either accepting or declining your seat. Once you get that turned in they will email you your novel of paperwork that you will rush around for the next 4 weeks trying to get finished as economically as possible. Have fun with THAT!! Campus: You don't get to pick. They give you what they give you and you take it! Sorry, but it's true! Hope this gives you all some information to settle your nerves for 30 seconds or so. Start shopping for shoes now to save yourselves on thing you have to do. Don't reace to go get any physicals at this point. Unless you do it this way: They have their own form your doctor will have to fill out. You can't just submit a copy of office notes. Dr. has to fill out PHSC's form. (hint, you can find the form online here - Admissions and Registration Forms | Pasco-Hernando State College Look at the bottom of the page and print it out. Get that out of the way and you will be so much happier!) Best Wishes to ALL!- PHSC 2015 Nursing Hopefuls
For everyone already creating a back-up plan: First of all stop stressing before you even hear!! ;-) in all honesty though, just make sure where ever you go is accredited. Otherwise no sitting for boards, and no license! Yikes!! You all are fine... Your scores are competiive. You got this!!- PHSC 2015 Nursing Hopefuls
Hang in there everyone! The wait will seem like FOREVER!!!! Breathe and enjoy your free time now. Oh, and as for the campus selection, yeah you really get no say. Though they try to put you closest to your home address, honestly they can put you where they want to and you follow along at their command. A few switched at orientation, but some were just stuck driving. Best to all!!- PHCC Fall 2014 hopefuls!
The wait is killer!!! Be patient. Like really patient. We thought we would hear by June 20th or so. Yea, add two weeks to that! So dont go on past boards dates they got letters! Enjoy life and just breathe!- PHCC Fall 2014 hopefuls!
Sorry!! Have been busy with school. It goes so fast! Congrats on the score!! The Spring session is less competitive. I think you will be good, but to be safe i applied to both. Tough to say because you dont really know who your competition is, you know? If you think its worth it you could always try the test again too! Up to you, but could make you more competitive for both programs. Honestly, i stalked the hopefuls boards to see where i stood with competition :-)- PHCC Fall 2014 hopefuls!
If you haven't heard from your instructor and I'm not too late ;-) it does not go on your sleeve. It goes on your left side chest. Check out the website for a perfect picture!! Hth- PTEC - LPN Clinical Sites
Your insight is helpful, thank you! Can I bother you again? Did you get to choose your sites, or just get what you were given? AND, With the online: were your clinicals EVERY weekend? What were the hours? I only ask because the school is poor in replying to me and these are the determining factors for his decision to enroll. Thank you again :)- PHCC Fall 2014 hopefuls!
Depends on your campus and the availability of the clinical sites. For West, they have tried to run Lecture on Tuesdays from 9-1:00 and Thursday and Friday for Clinicals/Lab from 7-4:00. I will tell you though that clinicals can be flexible. I have a friend starting 3rd semester and she has always been at clinicals from 6:00 a.m. to 2 or 3:00 p.m. Just depends on your professor. Also, know that campus can dictate this schedule. Also, the sites really determine when we are allowed to come to their facilities. If they decide Keiser for example gets Thursday and Fridays and we get Monday and Tuesday, we take what we can get. Just be forewarned.- PTEC - LPN Clinical Sites
Just a quick question hoping someone may know: Husband considering online PTEC LPN classes. Wondering if anyone can give insight into what sites PTEC Clearwater/St. Pete. uses for clinicals.- PHCC Fall 2014 hopefuls!
You're very welcome. I know how anxious the process is when you are going through it.- PHCC Fall 2014 hopefuls!
I wish that were easy to tell you... It just doesn't go that way. It's all about the total score. They don't care about GPA or TEAS on their own, per se on the RN Generic. They care about your overall score. For instance one girl that got in only had a 3.15 GPA but she had a 92.7% on TEAS. Another 'for instance' is one had a 3.6 with a 78% for a total score of 84.5% but mine was 3.23 GPA and a TEAS of 86% for score of 84.34%. We have almost the same total score, but completely different scores on both. It really comes down to your total. Since you can't change the .394 for your GPA and you get the .05 for the residence. Focus on the TEAS to get enough to get your total up to match the total score 82-85 range. That means a TEAS of at least about 75-80. Of course, the higher the better. If you go back on this thread several pages to when we got our acceptance letter you will be able to see the scores of everyone that got in. :) - PHSC 2015 Nursing Hopefuls
