The only reason I listed out the questions was to give anyone looking an idea of what the requirements were before they even bothered responding. I was by no means expecting someone to just read the questions, answer them all, then be on their way. I was going for transparency. I know exactly what I'm asking for, which is why people have the option of not doing it. I was at no time trying to guilt someone into it, if someone has the time great, if not that's fine too. The problem is that a lot of the older nurses on here seem to think that it's their life's purpose to tell everyone what they think of what their doing. Well guess what, it isn't. Your 2 cents isn't necessary or warranted. I didn't come on here asking for the answers to a homework sheet or copies of someone elses care plans like I've seen before. I literally asked for help with the expectation that no one really had the time. But no one can just leave well enough alone and just move on, no no that would be too much to ask wouldn't it. Do the nursing world a favor and spend your time contributing to the profession instead of spreading bitterness and negativity.

I understand the concept of the assignment, getting into nursing school is very competitive hence I didn't get in by being ignorant. A conversation is still possible online just like it is face to face. What I did not ask for was your judgement and attitude. I understand nurses are busy people and if I hadn't received one response to this post I wouldn't have thought anything of it. You haven't the slightest clue what I have going on in my life or what I do or do not have time for. It's people like you on this forum that make others not want to post anything, assignment related or not, because of your awful attitude. So, in the future feel free to keep your snotty-ass attitude to yourself and keep scrolling.

Hello all, I have a paper coming due about patient care error. I am supposed to interview a nurse but I was given permission to do it online if necessary and I have no time at clinical to do it and otherwise I'm in class. So if someone has the time and inclination to help me out I would really appreciate it. I am supposed to get the following information: 1) Description and context of a patient care error experienced by the nurse 2) Effects of the error and impact on the patient and nurse 3) Why was this event so memorable for the nurse 4) Influence of unit culture on the patient care error; Did organizational factors contribute to the error? 5) How was the error reported; Were any changes made to improve safety and quality? Could the error still happen today? 6) Do you have any personal safety strategies to prevent patient care errors? Best safety advice for a new nurse. Hello, I am due to graduate with my BSN (In SE Michigan) in December and I am planning to start applying for jobs in the next couple of weeks. first, I am torn about how to best format my resume. I have looked up a bunch of examples and a lot of them seem to have a list of all of the clinical rotations (place, semester, type, hours, etc). I originally decided to leave that off because I thought it was kind of a given that I completed all the necessary rotations but now I'm not so sure. Second, I'm not 100% sure how to go about applying for jobs before I actually graduate or have my license. Should I just apply to any open position? Some of the area hospitals have positions specifically designated as New Grad RN positions and some don't. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Yes since the beginning I have been picking everyone's brain I can during clinical and getting contact info and talking to people about jobs, etc. Which 2 would you consider not a good place to start??

Hello all, I will be graduating from Eastern Michigan University later this year and will be looking for work in the area. I was hoping to find out what the average starting pay for a new grad is at the area hospitals. I most interested in U of M and St. Joe Ann Arbor but also potentially interested in St. John's Providence, Beaumont, Children's Hospital in Detroit, Henry Ford, etc. Also, I would be interested in hearing about anyone's experiences working for hospitals in the area and finding out where other people started out working as a new grad especially if it wasn't in a hospital setting. Sorry I took so long to answer, not trying to kill anyone with anticipation, had to go back and look up last years stuff. and no I don't mind at all. So I applied with: I had/have the 6+ months of healthcare experience (vet tech for 4 years now), I took Nursing 101(A+), took the TEAS and didn't do nearly as well as I should have, no idea what happened there but my score was 74%,took Chem 120(B+), EDPS325(A), & SPMD 201/202(A- in both) at Eastern and transferred the math, English, Sociology,and psych credits from WCC all of which were A's. Not that this matters but I took CHEM 120 twice and got the exact same grade both times I don't remember the exact point total but I did see a counselor after I got the denial letter and she showed me a printout which basically showed me I was about 2 people off from getting in This year was almost the same but I retook sociology to make it an EMU credit. I believe my point total was 445, which seemed fine until I seen all the high point total listed on here.

Hey Ive been searching through here for awhile, thought maybe I should actually create an account. Applied for 2014 fall admission and the anticipation is killing me. Applied last year, didn't get in, hopefully better luck this year. I will let everyone know as soon as my letter comes, good or bad.
