  1. Are you a staff RN, NP, or Nursing Faculty member? I am a staff RN, site score of 16 and 220%. The hrsa website makes it pretty easy to locate your site and displays its ranking (score 1-25). Most of the Tier 1 (score 14 or higher) sites are normally publicly owned (or government) and not-for-profit. The other big thing they look for is rural sites, and sites caring for underserved populations (i.e. native americans and native hawaiians, refugees, mental health etc.) Here is the criteria information for shortage sites [COLOR=#810081]HPSA Designation Criteria . Tier 1 sites do not guarantee acceptance and the nurse's debt to income ratio is also a big factor for applicants. Nearly everyone I have spoken with that has been awarded has had a site score in Tier 1 (some in tier 2) and debt to income ratio somewhere near 200% (with student loans accrued while studying nursing factored in). Just look your site up on the hrsa website and figure out whether or not it qualifies. Here is the website Find Shortage Areas: HPSA by State & County PLEASE NOTE: The guidelines I have listed here are what I have seen/heard from nurses who have applied and successfully been awarded. That is, the guidelines that will make it more likely for you to get awarded. These ARE NOT guidelines for simply qualifying. For those guidelines, please refer to the NELRP Guidance PDF at http://www.hrsa.gov/loanscholarships/repayment/nursing/guidance.pdf

Received my finalist email today! Very thankful and appreciative to all those that contributed info for all of us applicants throughout the process. So incredibly excited and grateful for this program! Good luck to those waiting patiently and congratulations to all finalists! Truly, what a blessing. FYI my site score is 16 and my D2I is 220%

Your status wouldn't say "under review" now in June if you had errors in your application from back in February. From everything I've read and been told, only NPs and some Faculty begin hearing in June. Some staff nurses have heard as early as July in previous years, but I think your best bet is to hit the patience button for another couple months and pay closer attention in August.
