  1. It's been a few months since this topic was started but I am also looking at the North Carolina travel position through Maxim. I'm just at the beginning stages of the process. I would love some advice and insight on what to expect. What kind of housing do they set you up with? Are there rifts between Regular staff and Travelers? What is staffing like? Which prisons are the hardest to work in, the best? What does the orientation process consist of? If I work evenings or nights will I be the only RN there? I know that 13 weeks is not very long in the grand scheme of things but I want to know to expect if at all possible. It will be my first time traveling, first time correctional nursing and first time away from my home/family/friends for that long. Thanks!
