Hello!! I am debating on now doing a BSN to DNP program for administration. I don't want to become a nurse practitioner and I really find the business side and policy side of nursing more interesting. But what would my career opportunities be as a DNP in administration vs just a MSN in administration? I also have no background in administration. I would work as a staff nurse until I finish my DNP. Thanks!!!

I am just curious if a nurse has a background in just NICU and wants to become a nurse educator... what classes could this nurse teach with that background? Would this limit the opportunities for jobs? Thank you!!!

I would love to do staff development!! Did you go for your masters first or straight from BSN to Phd? What school did you do your phd in? and if you did get your masters first was it MSN Nurse Educator? Did you have to have teaching experience to become a staff developer or was that your first job after graduate school?

I do not know of anyone who is in an online phd program but I googled and saw some schools that offer BSN to PHD online but you still have to go to the school once a year for a week or something! Are you considering getting a Phd?

Hello! I was wondering what degree you need to become a nurse staff developer. I assume you need your masters. Would you get your masters in education? and how is the job outlook for nurse staff development? If I got a masters in education I would want to do this not end up teaching at a school because I couldn't' find a job. Thanks!!

yes I would love to know more about what someone with a Phd does or if a DNP route would be more what I am looking for!! I think research would definitely be interesting so I hope the answers to these questions will help me decide! I am not 100 % sure what route for my further education I want to do! I want to make sure I am making the right choice and that it will be something I love.

I am currently working as a full time nurse but I want to get my Phd. I do not want to teach or do education though. I want to do research or clinical trials. Are there any students that are getting their Phd now or nurses that have their Phd and are doing research or anything other than teaching with it? What can you do with a Phd in nursing? Was getting your Phd worth it (money wise, loans, hard work put into it) ? What is your work day typical like (work flow, work weekends?) ? What kind of institutions can you work for? How is the job market? Did you do an online program? Did you work full time while in school? and how long did it take you to complete your Phd?
