I was written up and put back on orientation
Use this to learn from but don't give up. Even long time nurses make mistakes. It sound like you were trying to help. Please just ask one of the other nurses if you are not sure, hopefully you have at least one there that is good and will help. None of us knows everything and the day that we think we do is the day we need to get out of this field. Just ask questions or use reference materials to check. But don't give up. You can do this! ?

The answer has to be A. You want to prevent the baby from getting it. That is the main goal. C sounds good but Antibiotics won't help in this situation. Hope this helps.

Is being a CNA really so dreadful?
I think it's a great idea! Esp if you are considering advancing in the nursing career. Our aides are some of the most important staff we have and most of the best nurses I have worked with started off as CNAs. When I went to nursing school it did give me a real edge. Not only in what I had been able to learn from my nurses but also in the fact that I was not intimidated by dealing with patients, families, and other staff members. Now as a not only gives me a better idea of what to expect of my aides but helps me keep a better working relationship with them because I have been in their shoes. They are the ones that spend the most time with a patient and so are the first ones to notice when Ms B is acting a "little strange. " I think it is a great idea.
