  1. I am currently attending penn valley for pre reqs, however I am having to pay out of pocket. I am having trouble paying for it & can't get loans until at least my second semester into the nursing program. I know there are other schools around that I could use my financial aid at, but not sure if they are any good. Any experiences with ones like NAU, Concorde, heritage... Any like that? Or if there are any suggestions as well, I'm open to options.
  2. Yeah for sure, they never mentioned they could be that far. That's crazy, wonder why they can't get them around here.
  3. I didn't know that about clinicals. I can't do that, I still have a job too. Thank you for the info :)
  4. What is everyone's opinion about NAU nursing program? I am unsure if I chose to further my education later if I could with their credits. I know it's $30-40,000 and I'd have to pay about $10-11,000 out of pocket for it. Or I can go to the community college also paying out of pocket but the program is $15,000 all together approximately.. Just looking for opinions.
  5. Thank you for all the suggestions! I am going to try all of them and see what works the best! I am hoping taking them separate isn't going to be a bad idea, I am taking evening classes again. I tend to be more productive at night so with class ending at 9 and I live closer to school now so I should have time to study after now. Only down side is starting in sept I will have to be up at 5am for work, Crossing my fingers this semester goes way better! I get discouraged so easily!
  6. Which sites did you use?
  7. Yeah I was explaining I took A&P over the summer as a 7-8 week class. It was insane I just couldn't keep up no matter what. So my school does offer them separate and I'm able to do that since I pay out of pocket anyways. I hadn't tried flash cards, but making the exercises and doing the end of chapter reviews is something I should try this time around. Once I am out of training at work I'm hoping to go to class early but the first few weeks I will be getting there right on time due to the end time of training. My summer class we didn't really have "lab" it was more just a study time, is that common ? I thought most actually did stuff during lab.
  8. That was the difficult part to is trying to figure out where it would be on the skeleton in class compared to the book sometimes since it wasn't 3D. I will look that up! Thank you
  9. Sorry if this posted twice, it is showing I didn't post it the last time. I signed up for A&P over the summer& just wasn't able to keep up no matter what I did. I studied non stop, spent about $200 on study material. My instructor suggested I take hem separately so I will be in anatomy in the fall. I am needing some study tips so I can hopefully be successful this semester.
  10. I had signed up for A&P summer class, but it was way to fast paced for me. I just couldn't keep up no matter what I did. I tried everything. The instructor suggested taking them separately so I am taking anatomy during the fall semester. Do you all have suggestion on study tips? I have the atlas that goes with my new text book as well as a different one, I tried recording the lectures which I plan to keep doing, I did notes, pics, tried this site my instructor showed us with labeling exercises. Etc. I am not the type that catches on to stuff quickly (in school. At work I can learn super fast, which is weird) I am just wanting ideas to do better this semester.
  11. no I bought a couple from Barnes & noble and amazon. I have one that has like 5 practice tests. Hoping these help!
  12. I cannot remember where I saw about the Teas test I will have to look that up again. I hope not either, i am overly organized I might go crazy ha.
  13. Yeah, I called the other day and asked about this point thing. She is like its based on your GPA, and teas. I'm like but you get a point if you have Microbiology so it's a point system, she's like no.. I was like so what is it that is on the website then, I ended up just saying okay & getting of the phone.
  14. ohhhh okay, I see so the points is literally based off your GPA. I see, makes sense. Then don't you get one point for getting 51.2% or higher on the TEAS also, or do you know how they grade that. Someone explained that to me that you just get that score or higher and you get a point.. I've read on here the nursing dept is pretty unorganized, starting to notice already. Yikes!
  15. I have read that a few times, which made me think a point system? I spoke to the lady in the nursing dept who says no it's not a point system?? I am just so confused at this point... Do you know the 4 points for GPA how that works? I take my Teas in Aug, I need to do my practice test, just been crazy busy lately.
