UK Nurse Registration Full Application and Assessment stage before OSCE
Hi Gloriajessica I had the same problem of having no maternity or paediatric experience. I managed to get some hours exposure to these areas through RN work (about 50hrs of each). If your training is lacking in any of these areas the NMC you state this in your application. There are forms you will be able to download and get your employer to complete stating you have exposure to these areas. Good luck

UK Nurse Registration Full Application and Assessment stage before OSCE
Hi kizmwah I am very happy to hear that you passed the resit. I took the OSCE yesterday and am so anxiously waiting for the results I cannot relax. Most of the people on the day were very nervous. The whole thing was nerve-wracking! The first time you sat it did you realise deep down that you had not passed? By that I mean, did you feel that you were unsure about most or just a few things. Also how did you feel on the second attempt? Overall I think I got most things correct but there are just a few things I could have improved on. I am also very anxious because I heard they are quick to down-mark on trivial things and that there is a high fail rate.

Decision letter received on the 14th October. Finally progressing through this system...

UK Nurse Registration Full Application and Assessment stage before OSCE
Good on you foxtrotunicorns Did they give you the decision letter the same time they responded to your complaint. Or did you get it shortly afterwards? Believe me I have called them up complaining numerous times. When they tried to fob me off with missing documents issue I pestered them and eventually spoke to a more senior person. From then they re-uploaded my documents and put me in the assessment queue AGAIN but from 26 August. I am still, however, awaiting a decision. The prospect of waiting a maximum 70 days is so daunting.

Hi Dee1986 Seems strange that they should ask for your date of birth. Did you upload your passport and birth certificate on page one of the online application portal? Also did you enter your DOB on that page... I hope they are not finding even more excuses to delay our applications....

UK Nurse Registration Full Application and Assessment stage before OSCE
Hi foxtrotunicorns It is a complete nightmare that we have to wait potentially a full 10 weeks. However they did tell me over the phone that 10 weeks is the maximum time they have to state and that it can potentially take a shorter time. Did you get your declaration of good health sorted out?

UK Nurse Registration Full Application and Assessment stage before OSCE
OK So I am back in the assessment queue as they have restored all the missing documents back onto my portal. However, I will have to wait potentially 10 weeks now..... Even though the technical glitch was THEIR fault....... The documents suddenly disappeared from my portal as a result of their IT system so they say...... Now they have re-scanned the hard copies, they only recognise them as being received on 26 August 2015... This is despite them being initially acknowledged as being received on 28 April when I was put in the assessment queue!! I guess that is justice!

Hi Jevylou Congrats on getting your DL. I was just reading through your posts on the 26th August. You said you called NMC and was told to wait as you were in the queue. Then on the same day you posted that you got your DL. Did this all happen on the same day? Also did you go through the "technical glitches" a lot of people are going through? Good luck with your OSCE preparation

sherry000 You need to have a police cert for all the countries you have lived in.....

UK Nurse Registration Full Application and Assessment stage before OSCE
Hi sherry000 I think my situation is different from yours. I was born in UK and lived in UK virtually all of my life. Hence I needed a UK certificate regardless. I studied nursing in Australia I returned to UK after my studies only returning to Australia to gain the work experience and hours. If you are a foreigner applying from outside and have never lived in UK I doubt they would require a UK check, you have to find out from them.

UK Nurse Registration Full Application and Assessment stage before OSCE
Believe me Nursemicky I have done all that.... I have called them constantly, emailed them and even written to them. They are aware that it is a fault on their end..... I am also CONSTANTLY reminding them of the issue... To date the only thing remaining is for them to re-upload the documents which 'mysteriously' disappeared from the portal...... Hopefully I will get the good news this coming week...

UK Nurse Registration Full Application and Assessment stage before OSCE
Hi Nursemicky Thanks for sharing your experience. I, like most people on this forum, am facing hell with this process. With regards to the new process, I was placed in the assessment queue on 28 April 2015. On 2nd July I received a notice that further information was required. They required a UK police check and clarification of IELTS results as I had accidentally missed a number out. I immediately rectified these issues. The UK police check showed up as received on my portal on 11 August. Now following documents have disappeared from my online portal: - Training Area reference form - Registration Authority Verification - Reference form 1 - Reference form 2 - Declaration of good health Apparently a "technical glitch" is the cause of this. Now they have to manually scan them in again...!!!! Once they scan them in I am told it takes about 2 weeks to reflect on the portal. It really is beyond a joke. They seem to be taking every opportunity to delay things. I honestly believe they are deliberately stalling my application. So demeaning to have to go through this!

UK Nurse Registration Full Application and Assessment stage before OSCE
Hi JEBurrell Am I correct in saying that your university only completed the "Form to Accompany the Transcript of Training" and did not include a separate "Transcript of Training" in addition? Where as the Form to Accompany Transcript of training required hours on the following AREAS: General or specialist medicine General or specialist surgery Child care and paediatrics Maternity care Mental health and psychiatry Care of the elderly (geriatrics) Community or primary care nursing The actual "Transcript of Training" which your university should've posted with the "Form to Accompany Trancript of Training" should have included theretical and practical hours of all your studied modules for example as below: UNIT TITLE .............THEORY HRS.............PRACTICAL HRS-- Acute care nursing ----100 -----------------------100 Bioscience --------------100 Sociology in nursing ---60 Acute Care nurs prac --200 -----------------------400 Mental H nurs prac -----100 -----------------------100 Nurs prac foundations -150 -----------------------150 Perspectives on ageing 130 Physiology ---------------150 This is just an example and figures made up. It needs to be drafted by your uni on their letterhead or at least contain their stamp. They should have sent it alont with the Form to Accompany Transcript of Training. Take a look at the NMC's "Form to Accompany Transcript of Training" on the top of page 1 it highlights what is required from "The head of the training institution". If I were you I would copy and paste this info onto an email to your uni. Sending in units outlines will be very tedious and they may not accept that. I hope this helps..... Sorry for being so WORDY.....

UK Nurse Registration Full Application and Assessment stage before OSCE
Hi Hellsing, BSN, RN Are you sure that the request for additional documents means that you will be placed in the bottom of the queue? Did thec NMC inform you of this? I read a post on this form or the NMC Test Online forum that someone was invited to do OSCE within a week or so of submitting additional documents. I am really frustrated as they require me to send a new UK police clearance.
