Thanks for the congrats. I certainly was not putting down C or D students who passed at 205 questions, while I originally failed at 85. It just seems strange that I could then pass at 85 ! The second test was so much easier than the first test; it does not seem fair that some can get a hard test and some a very easy test. I am glad I passed, of course, but the second test was really very easy. I made it a point to tell many people when I failed since bad news gets around and they might as well hear it from the source !It may be hard to say sometimes, but admit your failures and it helps your successes taste so much sweeter. I retested in 45 days. My wife, also a nurse, advised me to average about 100 sample questions a day (approx 4000 total). I told her that I would reach for 6,000. I actually ended up doing 10,000. My favorite books were Saunders (CD rom, red book and blue book), Lippencott, and Smith. I did not like Arco nor Moseby...I found errors in the answer keys.I went back to my school for question books, and also to the library. If you could do as many questions as you can , over and over, you will see a big difference after a few weeks. Also, I made sure to slow down when I took the test. I was unnerved by the State OP sending me that letter about'racing' through the test the first time. I was determined to take it easy and slow..... and it worked. You will make it too !!!! The test is just a small obstacle on your road to nursing. A Coworker of mine was hired the same day as I was, passed her RN boards, but did not make it through Orientation before she was fired. I failed my boards, retook it in 45 days, and kept my job. The only people who do not fail are people who do not try !!!!! Please keep me informed when you pass!!!!

Hi. Just wanted to say that I passed the NCLEX in 85 questions. Not too big of a deal, unless you knew that I failed the NCLEX six weeks earlier in 85 questions. I was shocked when I failed, as were my teachers and the nurses at the Hospital I work at. I failed at 85 questions even though I was an A student, (but some of my classmates passes at 205 and they were "D" students). The first test was hard, with many of the questions being the 'new format' type. The second test was the absolute easiest test that I have ever taken....you could have taken people off the street and they would have passed ! All of the questions were very simple multiple choice ! I never found out why I failed the first time. I had been told by other students that I would get a 'blueprint' of where I went wrong, but I never received anything. All I did receive was an e-mail from the State Office of Professions saying that I "raced through the exam" ????? The first exam took 50 minutes. For the second exam, I purposely took 90 seconds for each question and was finished in 2hrs and 10 min.... and I passed ! It is really scary that my second test could be so easy !!!! Did anyone else have an expereince like this?
