Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum and I am thinking about pursuing a degree in nursing. Currently I am considering a career change at 47 years old. I work as a Legal Assistant but I have absolutely no desire to become an attorney. I have a BA in psych but it doesn't mean anything in my profession. I am considering nursing truthfully because the money, going in, is better than what I make after nearly 20 years experience and I have always been interested in the medical field. I am leaning towards Gerontology. I know I should have done this many years ago but I had young children and had to live in the moment. Do any of you recommend an accelerated program or should I go to community college to do the pre-reqs? I have to take a few science courses and am leery of online A/P and biology courses. I live in New Jersey and very shortly the State will be requiring all nursing students to have a 4 year degree. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...
