  1. I got my acceptance letter for TC last thursday. Currently on the alternate list for Kilgore, so waiting to see if they find me a spot before I pack up and move back to Texarkana.
  2. Looked into all of those, and I think blinn in brenham is exactly what I'm looking for! Im still open for suggestions, as I have a long way to go til I start the ADN program.
  3. This may sound dumb, but I talked it over with my family and I think the best thing to do after I knock out my pre-req classes is to go off to another town for their ADN program. I think this would be best. I want to be a part of a good nursing program and stay at a school with half-ass decent dorms. Ive toured my towns and kilgores, and they were awful. I cant see myself living there 4 semesters. I was looking at North Central Texas College, it looked like it might be nice. Thoughts anyone?
  4. I was informed by my schools health sciences advisor that if I didnt complete intro to chemistry or general chemistry this semester, I would not be able to apply for the Fall 2015 Nursing program. Every last one of the introductory chemistry classes was full, forcing me to take general chemistry. Is there a large difference in the classes? I did a semester of chemistry in high school and made good grades before I dropped out for my GED. That was in 2008. How much more difficult is general chemistry than intro? Thanks!
  5. Anatomy & Physiology I + Lab General Psychology Nutrition Introductory Algebra (Terrible at math, have to meet the states requirement before I can take Pharmacology)
  6. I'm doing the LVN program, then immediately moving into the transition to RN program as it will be paid for me completely. I'd really like to work for St Jude's in Memphis, I'm sure it's incredibly competitive but that is my goal.
  7. I'm a 22 year old pre-nursing student, I begin my pre-reqs for the LVN program the the LVN->RN Transition program in 3 weeks. I've been researching the different specialties of nursing, and the only one that has stuck to me is pediatrics. I have never been more sure of anything in my heart before, and this is definitely what I want to pursue. I'm just wondering if males are common in the pediatric nursing field? I don't want to be viewed as some sort of sick pedophile, which I could see in peoples eyes when I told them I want to be a nurse that takes care of sick kids. It's disheartening. :/
