I could have SWORN she said we had to wait until we got an email from Donna Fouts saying we were in the system!! In fact, it says that in BOLD in the orientation packet. So, you just went up there without getting the email?
-
MCC acceptance letters???
Hey, have you gotten your email about the background check yet? It feels like we should have heard something by now with how she talked about it at orientation
-
MCC acceptance letters???
That is so awesome for you guys!!!! I don't really know a lot of ppl down here yet since we just moved. I do know the husband and wife I've talked about and I met a chick who's about to finish the rn program at mcc. Her sister is doing surg tech at mcc too. I am going to the orientation on wednesday, too. Maybe I will see you there. My name is Bethany, btw. :-) congrats! Can't wait until January!

MCC acceptance letters???
did she say what day letters will go out? Did they review all the applicants yesterday? I am getting freaking ancy over here!
-
MCC acceptance letters???
I didn't even check the mail yesterday bc I thought it wasn't going to be delivered... I will run and check it now! NOPE! Nothing there.... maybe today......
-
MCC acceptance letters???
I think letters should be going out today! Based on how quickly they went out in May.... I am just guessing though...... BUT, I know Hill College is now accepting applications and the deadline isn't until some time in November. I guess that's my backup plan - I really don't want to have to drive to freaking Hill College every day though. MCC is 20 minutes from me. I am getting really anxious. I haven't really been thinking about it much, but I am now!
-
MCC acceptance letters???
Last time, letters went our about three weeks after the application deadline. I expect to know by the second week of October. What are you going to do if you don't get in? I haven't even thought about that! I have no idea what I would do!

MCC acceptance letters???
it's good. I am just taking the elem stats class online. I like math, so I am enjoying it. I guess this is one last semester of rest before things get serious! you ended up with 43 points and a 4.0, right?
-
MCC acceptance letters???
I am submitting my application tomorrow!!!!!!!! When are you going to submit yours? How is your semester going so far?
-
MCC acceptance letters???
I am not sure how her points were, but she got accepted into Hill College.I was talking to her husband the other day and he said with 46 points and a 4.0, I will definitely get in. Did you ever ask Clark about how many people they admit for the spring? I am taking it with Shannon Thomas. She does not seem to have it all together! There are a bunch of questions about thinghs she doesn't cover in the lessons and there are a TON of errors in her lessons. I have shown her probably 10 errors (maybe more??) and she is going to give me a full extra point on my final grade for finding them. It won't matter because I will have an A either way.... I am just REALLY glad that I am taking this for review. If I was needing to learn the info like this, there would be no hope for me!

this intro A&P class is way more in depth than I was expecting it to be! I am doing fine, I just thought it would barely scratch the surface, but we are having to know specific muscles - some that we only had to know the groups of in my previous A&P 1 class
-
MCC acceptance letters???
I have not. I just know the one girl who got her 2nd rejection letter last month. I spoke with several people while I was waiting to submit my application, but I don't know if any of them got in!

MCC acceptance letters???
I am glad to hear it is a good program! I had been intending on going to TCC starting in January until we found out we were moving. I applied to MCC in May not really thinking I would get in bc the pre-reqs are different than for TCC. TCC has one of the best programs in the DFW metroplex. Even better than TCU and the other bigger schools. I expect it to be hard. I am just ready to get on with it!

MCC acceptance letters???
When I met with Clark last month after picking up my rejection letter, she told me that my HESI score was good, so I know yours will be! What did you make on that critical thinking section? I am pretty sure I made an 880 on that part, and then I made a 98 math and a 94 reading for a 96 overall. I don't remember my personality or learning style results though. How do they decided between identical candidates then if they are both at the bottom of the acceptable range? I heard that MCC has been having like 50% of RN students flunk out. Have you heard anything about this? I don't really know anything about the program except that the NCLEX passing rate is 99%. I am applying here out of necessity since we moved very suddenly. Of course, the person I heard it from was rejected from MCC twice before finally getting in to Hill College, he is currently a nurse at the VA hospital in Waco and also his wife just got rejected from MCC for the second time. Maybe he has hard feelings?

MCC acceptance letters???
I have not heard that! I was under the impression that everyone who fit certain criteria made it. For the May application, they accepted everyone who had at least 43 points and a 4.0. If it is the same for the Sept application, then you will be fine! Ask Mrs. Clark about that. I don't know how they would decide between two identical applicants if things like recommendation letters and personal experience don't count. They just kept my recommendation letters in my application file but they didn't count for anything

MCC acceptance letters???
it is all online, but I think there may be some clinicals, as well? Not really 100% sure. Right now, my focus is on that RN, but I know I want to get my BSN and maybe even my NP. Kinda depends on the job opportunities.... Since I have such young kids, it would be awesome to have a nice, cushy Dr's office job by the time my oldest in in HS! I know some nurses love the excitement of the ER, and I know I will too, but I want to be able to go mt kid's activities, too! All I know is I cannot wait to start my clinicals!

MCC acceptance letters???
I have only spoken with Mrs Clark about it briefly, and she is the one who told me to talk to Patterson about what to take. I am planning on getting a job after I get my RN and then just doing the BSN coursework all online. Who did you email about it? I just know it is through Texas Tech and they are supposed to have an AMAZING program
-
MCC acceptance letters???
ooohhh - maybe I could take that first aid class, too. I need to go and speak with Mrs Patterson (I think that's her name??) about what I can take. I am going to bridge to my BSN after the RN program and there is a whole list of classes you have to take and the only one I do not have yet is nutrition. After this intro anatomy class, I will have 46 points and a 4.0, no reason to suffer through the HESI again!!

MCC acceptance letters???
GREAT JOB!!!!!!! I am not retaking it for that one point, but it was super frustrating to make a 94 and miss out on it. Like my 98 in math means nothing! Oh well.... I made an 880 on that section if I remember correctly. That section was the WORST! I just finished LifeSpan and made an easy A - Dr. Morris is super nice! I don't know why anyone would say anything bad about her or the class! I even went and visited with her in her office. I also just started the intro anatomy class yesterday. So far, it is all review, but it is A LOT of work! It looks like we will be starting together in January! HOW EXCITING! :-) All I have to take in the fall in nutrition, though, so that stinks.... but oh well!
-
MCC acceptance letters???
OH! Study for the HESI! I missed that third point by one point on my reading score, so I only got 2 points for mine - I was so frustrated! 1 stupid point!! It makes sense that it may be easier in the spring, because maybe not as many people apply that time around. If you have a 4.0 and 43 points, you should be good! I will have to look you up when I start!
-
MCC acceptance letters???
I tried to reply but it wouldn't go through! I got rejected - I only had 40 points and a 3.7. They accepted 43-47 points and 4.0 GPA. In Sept, I will have 46 points and a 4.0. How do you have 43 points? If you don't have all co-reqs, haven't taken the HESI and live out of county, the best you can have is 40, I think!! Take AP2 and Lifespan in summer2 - lifespan is super easy so far! and I studied constantly for AP1 and I rarely studied for AP2. If you really lean red AP1, I promise you, AP2 is a breeze! Good luck either way - we may be going through the program together! :-)
