New Grad needs info on St. Francis Hospital in LI
she told me the two weeks ordeal because I asked .I had another interview @ stony brook where I waited for more than a month and then I decided to keep calling myself until they told me " sorry we hired another candidate" . here I have yet to write the thank you letter and yes my references are complete, i am not sure how my interview went especially with the time management question because as a school nurse i haven't really experience that but i had to tell her something . i wish i was more prepared. i felt like i was treated like a number and the interview was a formality because it was arranged after i called her and said i have been applying but never heard anything plus the system keeps telling me I cant apply for more jobs, so she said to come in for interview. let see if we hear anything . keep reminding the people about your reference. good luck to both of us. the wait is unbearable .

@ smiley28 ...I had an interview there today it was easy questions but the nurse recruiter overall energy was very "weak" . She didn't even asked my name and asked what your strength, weakness, why I want to work there ect. she said I will get another call in two weeks to have second interview with nurse manger and after that if we don't call you in a week assume you didn't get hire if you do you will hear with in a week good luck if you haven't gone for interview yet

getting hired at Stony Brook
I have my BSN (SBU 2014) and working part time as school nurse in a private school since Oct 2013. I want to skip nursing homes and want to get hired at Stony Brook especially but I will start with any hospital. I have applied everywhere since Nov 2014, had one interview at Stony Brook on Feb 19 and after a month of wait and then my own phone investigation I was told they hired someone else. I think its my school nurse job? maybe my references ( from school administration), and previous co-worker (school nurse) but not so much of nursing related ? but I don't know. My question is that after one interview/ rejection does Stony Brook calls for another interview/different position if one keeps applying ? and what should I change this time to get hired ?

further education or getting experience
thank you so much mhy12784..the no experience and "just" a school nurse scares me too but it getting a job at hospital these days is becoming like a luxury but hopefully jobs will start to open up soon . if you don't mind after BSN what did you choose for your grade school MSN , NP or DNP? is there such thing from BSN to DNP ? and how long does it take?

further education or getting experience
hello I gradated from ASS RN last year and went straight for my BSN accelerated program at Stony Brook University in hopes to get a hospital job. I m graduating next week but looking at the current job market I don't know if I should continue with further education or search harder for "bed side jobs" and get some experience .I m working at private school as part time nurse. even with education I cant' decide between MSN or NP because NP & DNP degree is my ultimate goal. only other nurses can understand my situation and I am desperate for answers. I live in NY, married and have kids, and soon I have to worry about my son's collage.
