  1. Honestly everything happens for a reason, ATI is coming out with a new TEAS after August and it's geared towards nursing stuff and it allows a 4 function calculator, it's suppose to be easier
  2. I have no idea if it's offered in the summer, all I know is that I'm gonna try to take it in the fall
  3. What pre reqs have you taken? We're gonna be forced to wait a year because we both got under a 75, I only need pharmacology, dosage calculations and micro and that's it.. I'm just gonna volunteer at an ambulance corps since I'm getting my emt certification so I'll get some skills from that and just take pharmacology in the fall because the nursing students in my class said its should really be taken by itself because it's that difficult so that's what I'll do
  4. Meh, I'm not gonna get my hopes up high now cause it seems like they sent it all at the same time
  5. Maybe there doing it alphabetically? My last name starts with a T
  6. What did you get on the TEAS?
  7. Was there any other people attached to the email? Worse comes to worse I'm gonna take pharmacology by itself in the fall and then micro in spring and retest then
  8. Congrats! Still waiting and checking my email
  9. It's odd cause the nursing students in my class said they heard back within a week.. Maybe there doing it different this year and actually making us wait í ½í¸’
  10. Has anyone heard anything?
  11. I talked to one of the nursing students in my class today and she got a 70 on the TEAS and still got in so crossing my fingers
  12. I heard it was suppose to be the 21st. Does your friend have extended time on tests because they have one seperate day for people with testing modifications
  13. If anyone gets anything back please keep us updated
  14. The proctor told me 150 people signed up but idk if she just said that to make it seem like big deal.. Because I took mine Tuesday and only have 15 people taking it and today there was only like 15
  15. Only 3 out of the 15 people I talked to got over 75 that took the test today, everything was mainly below 70 so I'm hoping if there's room they'll be lenient by 5 points, a nursing student in my class said she got a 74 and still got in and there's been people in the low 70s who've gotten in
  16. I got a 70 I'm so nervous but a lot of people I asked after they took it got in the mid 60s, I studied for 4 months straight and heard that sometimes people in the low 70's get in sometimes
  17. do the hospitals that hire RN's tend to like tem with emergency medicine experience for example a certified EMT? and do they help newly hired nurses to take the CEN exam?
  18. can RN's work the front lines of emergency medicine (ex. level 1&2 trauma centers) and if so what can they do (IV'S etc), and is it the traditional 4 years of college for a BSN and then on job training?
  19. ive looked into it but as much as I love emergency medicine I wouldn't want to put my life on hold for 10 years to become a physician
  20. so im currently looking into colleges and I know I want to specialize in emergency medicine. The thing is im stuck between NP or PA.. do both get on the front lines of action in the ED like treating major traumas? what can a NP do and a PA do in the ED(suturing, IV lines, Intubation etc)? Im just stuck between the two and need help comparing the two.. Which one is more hands on and presents more of the front lines of emergency medicine?
  21. I've looked into PA but I've heard that they don't usually get the front lines of emergency that they usually deal with less critical patients? I know I want to be a nurse though with specialization Ito work in the ED
  22. Thank you for the response, something else im getting confused about is what can an RN do in the ED and what can A NP do in the ED
  23. Im Danielle, Im 17 turning 18 soon going into my senior year. ive always had a passion for medicine especially emergency medicine. I was the kid at 10 years old watching open heart surgeries on discovery health (still do haha) but I know I want to become an RN and then probably go for my MS in nursing.. I would love to specialize in emergency medicine so my questions really are 1) would becoming an EMT-B help with my emergency nursing career? 2) when I go for my masters/NP do I need to go to a college like Vanderbuilt Unv. for specialized training(emergency/trauma) like that or will I be taught by whatever hospital hires me? 3) what can an Emergency nurse practitioner do? (diagnosis, treatment wise?)
